Opening.  Just so small an opening,  but a glimpse of Inside those protective outer leaf things….just a hint of what is Inside.   And i think how, really, it is very Wonder FULL that there is Only One.  I have never looked so closely,  looked so Well.   So i am so grateful for this Opportunity

COMING BACK AFTER CLICKING "publish"  and looking by double clicking……

I am on my knees grateful to have had this opportunity.   To watch this single SunFlower's Work sometimes several times a day.  I have never done this before.  Always i just planted seed.  They grew or they didn't.   But in looking here, at This ONE,  the slow deliberate Life that is Happening.  I need to get really still with this.  I need to SEE what i am Looking at,  i need to ,  what?, ….i need to…I need to Something that i don't even know what that IS yet.  But i need to.

again, already a work away day and so little time, really,  but something i wanted to look at.  To see if this will work to depict the "metaphysical background" that Buhner talks about,  the Dreaming of the Earth.  I don't know.  I 'll continue to look through tomorrow,  maybe baste down with one stitch…they are very small dream fragments,  very,  but the pins distract a lot.  

I went to pick up a load of grasshay  at 5:15.  When i got back,  it was so Dark i could barely see to back the truck in through the gate.  Here we Go.

    Having the ability to enlarge your photos is really something: I noticed a line of soft blue stitch, down at the bottom that intersects with the root stitch. Without the closeup, it looked like a thread fragment from the cloth. Now that I know it is meant to be there, I see it as an offshoot of the holding root, a bit of growth that wants to go on its own direction. I think of how we set purpose for each day but sometimes, we open ourselves to letting come what wants to come and a shift in our path, no matter how small, can take us in a new direction, leading to growth and understanding…

    The moon is 90 percent of full tonight (just got home from my writing group)…..I’m imagining you stitching by moonlight……it’s nearly warm here…54 degrees and no wind. I wrote very well tonight. happy and tired….goodnight Grace and dreams of earth. Goodnight you wonderful sunflower.

    the transluscent green light in the sepal of your opening sunflower is amazing
    many years ago i spent the whole day drawing a poppy flower opening from bud to fully open, it was one of the most magical days of my life
    & the cloth is a beauty

    remembering a day, with 2nd graders, studying bees, in a neighbor’s garden, where they had hives and so many flowers. each of them chose a place to sit and watch and sketch the bees and flowers….there was silence, and the bees humming, and after a while the children began to hum, too. it was one of those perfect moments. your cloth and words take me back there. x
