Cindy,  the Great and Best nurse at the Old Folks Home where Alz. B was had become my friend.  She had a stroke last week.  Only affecting her speech.  She's younger than i am.   Today she had to come to the Radiology Dept. at our local hospital for additional MRIs,   she lives an hour away.  She was there all day and needed company while there as they saw that she had had a Second stroke.  

She's been cleaning out her storage unit and brought me two oil lamps.  The light is efficient and very soft.  I lit it as i would a candle for her WellBeing.

    Karen, thank you. Of all the people you would not imagine. She
    is so Energetic and Funny and Warm. She loves the residents there
    and was so important to me in feeling welcome with being with Betty
    there. So willing to share her long long experience in that kind
    of Nursing. She’s a Brilliant Nurse and just a Fine Fine human
    being…

    a candle lit and then her name offered into the flames of a moon ceremony..and yours as well grace..she was held in the thoughts of a group of gracious young women..
    i was unexpectedly invited..it was hours away in the north of vermont..i thought i might be too late..but i made it.. and as i threw my tobacco packet into the flames your name and hers were in my thoughts and into the fire..i could imagine the gentle steady light of the lamp..
    this fire was wind tossed and vivid in the night..the kindling had clumps of dried thyme and the first quick rush of fire brought this incredible scent of dried wood and herbs.. it was so strong on the night..
    the altar was on the edge of a meadow on an herb farm..snow covered right now..but amazingly gentleness held while we were there..the moon was immense and then high and framed and covered and uncovered by clouds the branches of trees tossed above us and our stones added to the crescent altar being built there over time..
    and you and cindy were held there in hearts and minds

    Oh Grace…..I lit Tibetan healing incense and the white candle up here on the third floor, with young neighbors all around doing their TGIF stupid stuff–while I’m focused on a certain woman’s flame flickering in the darkness of our world….of all our flames flickering for her, and for you.

    CYNTHIA….we went into the Fire….thyme and wood in a so strong
    night moon high and framed at a crescent altar. We were held.
    I feel held.
    I am SOOOO Glad you could Go………..

    yes. unknowable. our own soft light…so hard to know.
    She will now just wait. See what comes.
    But she is one who Just Goes. Today continuing to work to clean
    out her Stuff.
