the Question:  How Real is this Internet.  This Web?  Faux Real? or Real?  Like,  really Real.

the Answer:  it is Really Real.  period.

This name come Up into my awareness,  Out of the Blue.  Paulus Berensohn.  Never heard it before.

I am sitting here in Polvadera New Mexico USA  Earth  and this name appears to me.  I google.  Oh Lordy.

Jan sends me a dvd.  To Spring from the Hand.  the life and philosophy of Paulus Berensohn.  Who is 80 this year.   YOU can google him.

I watch it.  I watch it.  I watch it.

I call Scott,  who is the Potter that brings his things from Carrizozo to our Farmer's Market here in Socorro and ask…………..do you have a little bit of Clay you can bring me?, so i can make a Pinch Pot?

This morning i took a shower when this house was still so Cold and i got dressed Early and i fed the Goats Early and i broke their water Early and i left…Tay and Chinche at the gate and i went into town to the Winter Saturday Morning Market and was THE ONLY PERSON THERE,   it was COLD,

and Scott brought me two bags of clay.  Messilla Valley clay.

In the dvd Mary Oliver speaks her words,  how she wants her friend Paulus to make her a begging bowl.  I don't want to make a begging bowl.  but I want to make a pinch pot.  I do.

yes –he is a bit of a god
i have had his book—‘finding one’s way with clay”
if i can find it i will send it to you.
you can most certainly make a pinch pot.
you’ll need to find a kiln.
    & then see what happens…

.watch now.. how i am here as many mornings as i can be for exactly this and now this morning will be filled with the thought..the tactile imagination of the clay in your hands, of the pressure of your fingers, of the yielding of the clay as you give it new life in a new form..
maybe find an old friend of a book and spend time as well..gentle day grace..an as saskia says

and now can you dig a pit? fill it will all kinds of dried manure etc, fire it up, cover it and see what happens? i have a feeling the results would be amazing. here in NC–well in WV also–the clay is red. while unpacking i came across a red clay figure my son made when he was about 4. he’s 41 now. its head broke off the body over the years but managed to stay close by and i’ll glue it back soon. and every time i look at it, i think this is something i want to do as well–hand shaped bowls, critters, spirits from the earth. and then i want to dig a hole in the ground and fill it up with all manner of things that will burn–smolder–and see what happens. your post this morning … well thank you for it…for every single one of them…yesterday i managed to get a post up, and in doing i thought of you. how steadfast you are. like the sun. blessings to you my very real friend. and big love.

I feel real. You feel real to me. Everyone who visits here feels real to me too. Think of it, we are piles of ash eventually (dust to dust) after all the juices are evaporated. That’s real too. The clay you hold is real even though I’m just seeing a picture of it. The pinch pot that has begun is real too.
I love this man. “Everything is art when you’re dressed for it”
says Paulus Berensohn during filming of a feature length documentary of his life to be released in March 2014. This charming story calls us to pay attention, real attention, to our lives and the world around us.
