back from work,  i found self feeling like i was still floating in some way,  the way i felt when All was Said and Done yesterday.  There was a long time just sitting on the porch steps with Tay coming back and forth to me,  checking on me,  because i very rarely SIT outside…she didn't know what to think.

and i said to Liz i would put cloth in the rusted wheelbarrow weighted with a stone

but i couldn't quite think that through so i just put these two Cat Hair Scraps,  which there are still hundreds of to be pinned and dried,  these two scraps and poured vinegar on them which was easy enough because there's always a gallon of vinegar in the Albatross for cleaning the Water Bowls.

It was 76 degrees today.   So i neatened   (i love that word even tho it's not a word)  the dye table that is one of those big electrical spools.  Lots of various stuff there since last summer's use.  Decluttered.  And then brought out the half of the copper water tank float that i kept.  It has that nub on the bottom

but it's ok, because the center of the Spool is this

as if they were made for EachOther

I looked again  (so many agains)  at this what ever it is that rose to the surface in one of Alz. B's son's fields when it was tilled a few years ago.  The rust continues and there is still that very clear turquoise line that no one so far has any idea what it might be.  Another winter and Still BeautyFull

and this that i found in Magdalena.  Maybe i'll wash the dirt off and see what it does with cloth?

the Lilac bush.  Too soon but  "feelin it" nonetheless

So many treasures..the copper …the rust…oh I love all the colours and textures. The heart shaped stone just like one given to me years back by a dear friend …..Such a simple gift that even after her passing continues to fill me with such sweet memories. She had a generous heart…..her name was Wanda.

Oh sitting outside today was amazing … bird song, grass sprouting, and the first bluebonnets spotted. Not to mention the turkeys … much male strutting and sparring, which the hens mostly ignored.
Now that it’s getting warmer I need to take my own advice and get rusting again.

A whole lot of beautiful going on here Grace. Nice to see sun shafts on things, and a bit of green at the base of some grass. Very nice break from the grey sleety view I’ve had for a while.

in the early hours, before dawn, it’s cold. you have socks in
boots or boot shoes. You build a small fire in the stove, small because you know that in not too long, it will be WARM from SUN. You begin with the layers of stuff you are wearing, leggings, socks, those boots, the hoodie. But soon, the boots come off and go to crocs and then the socks come off and go to just crocs, the hoodie is peeled off, the leggings feel like too much and by noon you are bare footed. Just a long sleeved cotten shirt and very soon you want just a T shirt and there is NO WHERE to be but OUTSIDE and it’s like some kind of Song of some sort, that being OutSide, and you just wander in it, because it’s still too soon to take it seriously because probably it will freeze again but the End is in sight and all you can think about is where you might PLANT all the food things for this next year and you start looking so close at the thing branches of things for signs. For Signs and there are very small flying beings that you really can’t see because they are so small and so fast in their flying

your still-lives (word? not word? — I think ‘neatened’ is one, by the way) are stunning… and not just for the warmth the rusty tones impart to this snowed-in-whitewashed-backaching-from-shoveling-northeastener, but for themselves… I particularly like Wanda. I am always looking for heart-shaped rocks. They are not easily come by. I have not named any of mine, but perhaps that would be fun. Also? That wheelbarrow shot is perfect. It makes me think you could sell your photos. (not that that is what any of this is about, but there it is, the idea).

Oh barefoot … how I miss barefoot. Here there are too many burs, briars and cacti … even the oak leaves have an attitude

if you walk those pathways enough in your good soled boots, shoes,
soon enough much will be gone and you can then walk with BARE feet and sometimes pick up a something, but most times just walk…foot to earth

Thank you. I remember. NO WHERE to be but OUTSIDE, but still too soon. It is coming but still not in sight here.
