just very small things.  The subtlety of so much.  Here, for instance,  the b in the word.  so subtle that it's only there when written in black and white.  When spoken,  so illusive as just not there.  like the D in Saskia's dog's name,  Django.  the D is silent.   Why? do we put letters in words that are   Silent?

Pretty much the same time as yesterday, but a very different day.  Colder.  WIND.  tonight, not bare foot but back to wool socks and boots.  Not subtle at all.

but the colOUR of this cloth,  subtle.  So subtle that i could NOT get it right.  It's a scrap of Deb Lacativa's dye pot Magic.   Where has it been?  Today was like seeing it for the first time.  and i couldn't get the part that appears here as a kind of uhhh, rose color to appear as i saw it with my naked eye…a redwine color, very deep,  with an orangeish.  It is truly extra ordinary.  Way.

was looking at that scrap in terms of this Cloth, of Transmigration which is going to be  O So interesting to find out what kinds of subtlety  IT might ask for…………    Am loving looking so Loong before beginning.

there are seven Crows and seven Goats.   Everything that needs to be is Present.  Subtle here had to do with trying to photograph at the end of this day when the available light was not so much available.  I tried a couple times and then just used the flash that changes things in subtle ways but i can see the red thread,  dangling down on both sides.  Do i cut those dangling threads SHORT?  Leave them as is?   They are really, a very small  "components".  just the long danglings of a single strand of embroidery thread.  Nothing much at all.  Yet they change things in a not so subtle way.  To my eye, they Soften the impact of the Red Line.  Gentle it.

Does this tell the truth of this "story"?  or does it change it?  I like very much how the Red Thread dangles on both sides.  Like looking at that.  But, really,  that's not what this Story is about.  So, tomorrow,  i will cut them.  Leave it how it is,  almost,  stark.  That line.  THAT'S the story.  a Stark red line.

The subtleties of the English language
Silent letters, auxilliary letters, dummy letters inert andempty letters

    Why?
This is because although the pronunciation of some words has changed over the last two or three hundred years the spelling has stayed the same.
The Cloth of Sevens is miraculous, whatever it’s title, it’s a whole story, a happy story, a subtle story…and oh that Sun being above the mountains, the water flowing through, and the red line of continuity!
The new cloth developing is provocative. Love watching your process

So nice. I love the goats. Just a dot with legs and there they are. I enjoy watching your pictures grow and reading your stories.
Silent letters. Like subconcious motivations from something in your past that you don’t remember. The feeling is there, the reason for it is long gone. No more stone, only ripples.
I love the big quilting hoop. It’s a perfect drawing board for fabrics. I used to drag my quilts in progress from room to room. It was great, the hoop made it all portable. A quilting frame would have kept me in one spot. I follow the light around the house like the cats do.

If it’s any consolation, my camera was dumb about that range of colors too. The closest I could get was putting the camera in “portrait” mode, in natural light around ten in the morning or two in the afternoon, no flash, of course.

Deb’s work with dye is magical. it inspires so much for me. There
is the plant dye i learn to work with and there is the magical
procion that she works with and between the two, EVERYTHING is
    there

maybe it’s all subtly elusive as All is an illusion to begin with, illusory, all of our own making, in our own mind I mean, or perhaps just being silly after a day in the book shop surrounded by thoughts and everything of So Many Others….
plus – in Dutch – we do hear a ‘d’ in Django, we need the combination ‘dj’ for your ‘j’ sound!!

that must be really interesting for you, the atmosphere of the
book shop, so many people each with their own train of thought, and often sharing it with you, appreciating your response. I remember that. The days always felt full to the brim…
i am trying to imagine the dj sound you need
