Off the Hoop!   Everything is stable…the undulating of the Substance that floats the fragment of Soul.  Which again,  is a very WonderFull piece of Deb Lacativa's dye artistry.  So perfect.  It is difficult to see,  all the small small stitches that hold it all in place,  easier with the Cloth actually there.  It is recycled damask and so has a glow and a sheen.  Ahh.    And this Tassel.  I'd looked forward to it here,  but now see that it won't work.  There is too much weight to it,  so am not sure.  May make one of light threads.  Maybe.  So now,  to just Be.  On the Wall for some time.  To listen.  But i don't think there is really anything more.

And how can i say this.  This is really the first time that i have ummm,  departed from Jude's teachings and created my own way to use those teachings?  Using the invisible baste,  well,  the basic idea of it,  because i DID make it a little visible at times,  but using it in this way, clustered,  to create the uhhh, movement…well,  not create,  but Hold the movement of the Cloth…without stitching it Down,  which would have had an entirely different affect, that i Didn't want.  I am Very Happy about this.

and all this while of stitching,  i have watched this form.  More and more it appears as an embryonic energy,  and i was thinking today…maybe this is the New that has been magnetized by the process of the Fragmenting being,  the Next….coming near.  Ready.

Am very very VERY happy about this Cloth.

i think i know for certain that Jude would want you to create your own way to use her teachings.
    of course she would !
i don’t think it’s about departing –in a way that can kind of seem like betraying–
but about expanding the whole thing in a Way that expresses the deepest YOU..
the invisible baste business is pretty crazy wonderful as far as i’m concerned.
it is really kind of magic–
    i love it so much.
if i had to say what is the most important thing i have gotten from Jude it is this …
the dimension it brings to any cloth —
    good job , grace…
    excellent job.

The thing about really good teachers is……..giving us the tools to fly. She will be proud ….ahhh the student becomes the teacher.

powerful cloth Grace. the paths leading to and extending from the center. so many different paths–ways–so many different parts of life–and the challenge, i believe, is achieving integration of it all. that’s what this piece means speaks of to me.

What I like here is how it seems the wind is held in or beneath the cloth, how you have freed it, and then not, that the whole base is liquid in that wind like way. Most importantly how that connects the nature of the cloth to your own particular story.

yes…you are right. the word departing was ill chosen. again,
lazy language because of how i write posts…without thinking, just
whatever comes out as the fingers move on the keyboard. it was
more something that came out of Need from all that i’ve learned…
it was a spontaneous movement from something learned to something
    needed.

This new kind of stitch … will it have a name? What were you calling it in your mind as your fingers found their way?

It’s like looking at a dry landscape from space. Trees grow in the low places where water flows. A good technique should be a tool that can be used many ways. I love the topography of it.
