i was beginning to think it wouldn't happen.  But this morning,  i Knew some things about the Pretty Cloth.  And right away,  i Knew to look at the Maria's Cloths that remain on the middle back of the futon couch.  See if one would work and oh, yes.  One will work.  It is a very gentle sand pink color, really a sand blush .  Perfect.

so…stitched to a piece of gray lavender that i had somehow dyed of something sometime,  a piece of harem cloth in the middle.   Began the kantha,  all around,  more than half way down one side today. It feels very very good and right.

Wood box turned over,  copper tub for kindling,  Chinche's winter sleeping blanket.  Out.  Done for seven months.  Chiche's blanket and two other wool blankets,  the two door blankets,  will be off to the Laundromat,  then stored away until needed again.

and it seems we might have another new neighbor.  The Sparrow neighbor under the awning at the far West and for now,  a new cat under the house to the farthest East.  This is the young cat that is the mother of that little yellow kitten that was in the Albatros a while ago?  I think she ordinarily lives under neighbor Margie's house.  I see her now and then,  over in the far place.  She needs to leave Margie's on the weekends when Margie's son Strong Man comes with his pitbull Fiona who is a very good dog,  but not so much about cats.  She's come here before for the weekend but here we are….Wednesday……

off and on through the day,  Tay has barked there.  I finally went out and squatted down with her, looking….into that crack and yes,  about 4" away,  it's her.  Staring back.  She looks so much like Tazmeena that i came in to see if Taz was in her usual spot…on the bed…yes…so back out and squatting again,  i explained to Tay that it's just another cat like Tazmeena,  no need to bark,  but then

as the words were said,  like lightning,  a forearm and paw whipped out the crack and caught Tay on the nose.

Still,  i thought how it might be good to have an OutSide cat,  an Under the House cat.  Maybe i should dribble some food into that crack.   But then i remembered that she has had two litters of kittens that i know of.  Hmmmm.  She is feral.  Hmmmm.    That i am trying to understand that last part of the Metta meditation…May i live with ease.   understand how i lovingly sabotage my self.

i read the Salzberg book about walking meditation. read words.
walking meditation, the words and tried. I could do it for one
step. i realized even more how i am like some kind of little plastic wind up toy that you wind up and put on some kind of downhill plank and it’s little plastic feet go, go go go tickety tickety
    fast
walking meditation would be good in your Other imposed circumstance
    maybe
    i love you, Cynthia

Funny, I found a silk bit of tassel string and it was A color I know you like so I picked it up and cleaned it and put it in a card and envelope for you….now your pretty cloth looks like the same sort of string…and of course, I so admire your kantha. Meanwhile the under the house cat oh if only it could be caught and altered so not more litters…but probably not. I’m up too late waiting for the construction that was ‘threatened’ by a sign outside the building “No Parking Zone – Construction 12AM to 5PM Thursday. It’s still silent. Maybe I’ll open the window, I prefer air

Maria’s cloth has a soft beauty and coupled with your gray lavender cloth, gives a sense of ease, of the quiet beauty of spring, when it is not raining, and wind-storming! I know you will make a unique cloth. What I would love to see, and what I see in my mind’s eye when I think of pretty, is your feather grass stitching; how you so skillfully bring to life that sense of movement when a soft wind sways the grasses and they seem to move right off the cloth,at ease with the wind.

love the name you’ve given the color–sand pink. always thought that would be a great job–being a paint color namer.
and this color you call sand pink. yet. it’s comforting and creates a sense of serenity so as i say this i’m feeling into what “pretty” might mean. and it’s not at all what i might have said a few days ago.

I love how the light caught on the copper tub … we have one much like it, but it is heavy with blue-green patina

..what a kind thought..i have not done this for a long time and it is such a good idea right now..the going without arriving…the ease ..and of course when i used to try this a long time ago i was younger and busy..and .was not trying to relearn balance…which does make me quite mindful as i walk….
looking at the lovely cloth made me smile as well..it is a pretty piece of cloth…and your stitches already are starting to bring it to life…and it is a lovely pink..which is part of the reason i am smiling..my mother had vivid dark red hair..and so was not allowed to wear pink when she was a child..and oh she so loved wearing it ..having it around her as an adult…and this was probably her favorite shade…and when she wore it ..she was very happy and very pretty…gentle day grace
