was Out,  doing the SUNday things and it has begun to rain.  So this is early,  in hopes that it will suddenly become brilliantly SUNNY again for an hour or two

JUST   a little more,  just a little  on the line of the face

it's still ok.

but then…..

IMG_2850ff

this cloth is   METTA.   The scraps were chosen because they represent to me all the many that i would say the words for.

May you be safe.  Be happy.  Be healthy.  May you live with ease.

They begin with those close to me and circle out,  as the meditation does.  Will i stitch a strand to connect them?  I don't know yet.   Here,  i just stitched the easiest way to hold the fragments to the cloth,  leaving the threads loose and i really really like this.  I may redo with Deb Lacativa's varigated floss…in blue to pale to an ivory…maybe.  Need to just look for now.

OH!…sun has returned!!!!!!  Need to go back OUT!…

and speaking Of,  Deb was wishing for some Iris tubers to join her in Georgia.  Sun was back just long enough to bring these in to the kitchen sink.  I don't know what to say about them.  They leave me speechless.   There are so many Out There.  At the surface.

You are so on track here. Such beautiful control and intention. It’s lovely lovely – sent me back to Metta (academic but oh so enlightening):
Mettā (Pali: मेत्ता in Devanagari) or maitrī (Sanskrit: मैत्री) is benevolence,[1][2] friendliness,[3][4][5] [2][4] amity,[3] friendship,[4] good will,[4] kindness,[3][6] close mental union (on same mental wavelength),[4] and active interest in others.[3] It is one of the ten pāramīs of the Theravāda school of Buddhism, and the first of the four sublime states (Brahmavihāras). This is love without clinging (upādāna). The cultivation of benevolence (mettā bhāvanā) is a popular form of meditation in Buddhism. In the Theravadin Buddhist tradition, this practice begins with the meditator cultivating benevolence towards themselves,[7] then one’s loved ones, friends, teachers, strangers, enemies, and finally towards all sentient beings. In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, this practice is associated with tonglen (cf.), whereby one breathes out (“sends”) happiness and breathes in (“receives”) suffering.[8] Tibetan Buddhists also practice contemplation of the Brahmavihāras, also called the four immeasurables, which is sometimes called ‘compassion meditation’.[9]”
