Wind slept but returned before Light this morning bringing yet more rain.  So i went back to where i'd left off…

thinking about the love of rags,  of raw fragments which led me to thinking about GraceandMending.blogspot….so i go check to see if there is a new post.  No.  She must be deeply into her other work,  but nonetheless,  i can re read the last post of September 19, 2014.  A Rag a Day post.   And there,  something for the Wind Horse Cloth, she said and there is the first photograph,  a piece of gauze with the caption: " Triangle of unbleached cotton gauze,  folded along the bias.  Wrinkled where it had been tied to make a sling, found, untied,  two doors down on the lawn."  And i read the whole post again,  i don't know how many times i have read it so far,  but it is an extraordinary post and each time i am filled with so Much.    Go look.  you will be Glad.

and it's still RAINING through the morning so i go to On Being…a Saturday event for me….and find  Maria Popova.  Interview entitled:  Cartographer of Meaning in a Digital Word.  A young woman, such a Wide Open heart and MIND.  Her blog is Brain Pickings.org.  I learn a new word…Marginalia.  Ahh.  i am redeemed.

and with all this,  i pin some things

Then…SUN and i am Out and working and so beautyfully lost in the work.  Happiness…..

Yes, marginalia is a wonderful word for a great practice (in one’s own books of course).
I love the progress on the cloth … especially the shift in the purple piece from take 1 to take 2

It’s a living thing suddenly (that mask).
Our rain has begun and will persist through Sunday.
    Glad you got some sun.

Oh, Grace! Thank you! I went back and read the post about the forlorn little sling. And, yes, work overwhelms everything else, but just this past week a new equilibrium is upon us here. You honor me more than words can say by keeping me in this world of thinking/stitching. And this cloth was on my mind yesterday, that I need to dye some thread for it; I’ll do it today to honor you.
And these additions to this new cloth make me think of a spring.

The other word that caught me in the interview was stewardship. I’m thinking about that. So much richness in the week’s posts Grace. Sending you a hug. 🙂

Wendy…your Other work is critical to the World and so, the
Cloth graciously waits for it’s time i am sure and really, i have
had Time to really really LOVE that post as it can be loved. I
could reading over and over forever and be happy.
and every day as i go my way here, i watch for a scrap alongside the road, but nothing Yet but someday, there might be and i can send it.
I LOVE so much what you do and how you do it….so much…..
