Bell Pepper

IMG_4269g

not large, like from the store,  but…succulent.  crunchy.  the taste and fragrance sharp and edgy.  Oh, i sing in celebration of this Bell Pepper and all the blossoms that may continue to Become.

and i found what it is for me, leisure,  or close to it,  as close to it as i have during these times….

IMG_4273f

i turned around,  so early,  from this computer screen,  to see

the Magic Diaries Cloth had been folded on the futon couch in a different way and there she was

IMG_4275f

and i realized that it's the just looking that for me is the closest to that definition of leisure.  At least in my Now.

Back to Old Cowboy's.

Home and more kantha

IMG_4278f

and the bottom Flare,  which was expected,  but not quite this much,  but i kind of Like it,  but

IMG_4279f

decided to make the correction which in this case will be just ok because there needs to be rocks and stones and they will absorb the excess.  But if i were ever to do something like this again,  i will Remember and find a way to work it in more as i go.  But i LIKE this a LOT.  It's Right for what wants saying.

IMG_4284f

and it worked for Mantis herself.  "In person"  she is even so much finer, amidst the Kantha.  Yes.  It works.  It's how it is.

Tomorrow,  HOPE,  will the the second day i will be able to stay Home in two weeks.  If it happens, i will finish the kantha and Maybe begin the Inktense on Mantis.  or maybe wait and work on rocks and stones first?  But a day HOME,  oh, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    in reply to Jan
have been looking at starting School pics on facebook of the great grandson and the girl Destiny…kindergarten and second grade
and mailing to Cindy in Georgia about the August Dreaming Cloth
that she wanted for her daughter Ivis.
the pics on facebook were taken by granddaughter’s X’s woman, whose
    name is Yanine. phoneticall, yaneen….
    Cindy’s daughter’s name is Ivis.
for whatever reason, these names make me so full of stuff that my eyes are wet with tears of some kind of love
    Yanine Ivis
    Ivis Yanine
    naming girls.
Makes me wish i was pregnant, about to give birth, i would name
a girl child Ivis Yanine, YanineIvis, IvisYanine, i am an
    very smushy mess this eve

Leisure can be as pure and basic as taking a moment to eat from your garden, that bell pepper, I can taste and feel that crunch. Is that your first tomato?
Yes, the sounding of names; the saying out loud; names can send us places, can bring a longing. I know this well.
and your Mantis, your Ivis Yaneen, I think she knows my beloved Celia (the singer, although if the cloth has gone outside, she may very well know my Celia the goat). Celia is one of those names that fills me with longing, sends my spine to tingling and so Ivis Yaneen Mantis knows my Celia Cruz for she is dancing to the ripples of your Kantha…and me right along with her.

to grace, and marti. . .I have had that longing for girls’ names as well. . .and the girls who might embody them. . .deep concerns about mothering a daughter myself as there was so much pain between my own mother and me. . .it was a relief and release to have one son only. but names. . .interesting what they hold for us.

about leisure….I thought of you straight away today, Grace. Reading a book, an autobiography by an Aussie woman, called A Table in an Orchard. She’s a young mum, a few acres in Tasmania, orchard, vegetable gardens, chickens, little ones, canning, cooking, doing it all. You get the picture. Her Italian WWOOFers then introduce her to the wisdom of Il dolce far niente…..the Sweetness of Doing Nothing. Instead of valuing busyness, they say, just sit and be every day. I like it.

Oh that mantis. Of the cloth and now bulging forth from it. And that eeeeeeeeeeee resonating all the way across the miles. Thank you. I needed that. It has been a very hard week here… not hard in your current way of hard, but hard.
My niece named her daughter Maya. She is utter beauty and I can see my whole line of female ancestors in her 6 month old face when I look at pictures. And that name… Maya. Perfection. Love.

Her words….” il dolce far niente captured my imagination, so after a hard day’s work, I finish the chores, unplug, switch off, stop planning, stop thinking…just sit and be in just my company or that of my loved ones. I’m learning to do this, I’m going to write it on the wall as a reminder. The Sweetness of Doing Nothing.”
