I'd commented the other day how it took Tay what seemed to be a long time to decide to Play Ball.  But today i thought about how different things just take time.  Take Time.  I like those two words.

This is Alz B's rug.   It's been two places since she no longer lived in her home.  A long time in the back of the car.   And then moved to the corner of the front porch,  folded up.  There,  at least a year.  Just there,  soaking in whatever weather came and went.   I think longer than a year.  But today for whatever reason i decided to take it with me to Alz B's son's home and put it in the washer while i cleaned there.  I put it on Hand Wash.

At her house it was in the short hallway that was the hub of all the other rooms,  the kitchen,  the front bathroom,  livingroom and what she called her Office tho she never did anything officely in there…even before the Alzheimer's took hold,  she couldn't deal with the computer.  But she did have a file cabinet.  so…yes.  an Office.  Anyway,  it was right in front of the phone too.  She was always a little sloppy,  carrying cups and plates of food around with her.  When i came to clean i knew what she'd done all week.  This rug was a bone of contention.  I always wanted to wash it.  She said that was an impossibility.  Her house,  she won.   But finally,  today,  i DID wash it.  On Hand Wash.  And now it's for Tay,  in front of the wood stove.

tied some strings.  The different tension is allowing SOME weebliness.  Some.  not sure.  and too, if i leave the long tales,  them too.  Slow going,  this.

I love the rug…the birds darting back and forth, trailing their speed behind them! And the bunching up of the fabric on this piece is quite something…it gives me an idea…

I think of taking time as giving time, time to self, to cloth, to animals, to food, goats, sunrise, moonrise, and what ever else needs time to come into it’s own. It’s a beautiful rug, a feather rug.
Hey, look at your email…a package arrived from Cynthia and I asked you a question.

    dirt preserves things
maybe she was preserving the birds for you.
she knew you’d wash it eventually
and it would be like unwrapping a present.
its nice you have been given a flying carpet
    its beautiful.
    grieving does take time
we have a brother in a box now
and a kitten it was not the form
I expected the brother to visit in.
I just hope he’s off with Isaac visiting
and not all alone lost. he was lost here often.
the nephew did a rebirth chart for him
I’ll have to ask what it looks like his next path is.
    maybe your boy goat
needed to be home to be relaxed enough for proper breeding.
he’s glad to be home from what you write.
its amazing your snow is gone already
is it too early to garden?
I’d worry about the lizards too,
I found 2 skinks last year they hide very well.
I had to make places for them.
my sister keeps the yard groomed
i’ve told her the chickens need a pile of sticks and leaves
to root thru for bugs its mouth more fun than a pot of feed.
maybe we’ll see about it this spring

it’s true and how, suddenly, it was time. I’d passed it
there in the corner of the porch so so many days upon days.
Just a glance, held just a few seconds. But then….TIME.

SunnyRay isn’t home yet…still gone, still waiting to find out what he did or didn’t do. Just sorting it all through right now.
the snow doesn’t stay long here, or, “ordinarily” doesn’t, but “ordinarily” doesn’t so much apply anymore. But ordinarily it comes and is gone by the end of the day it came. It is not
unusual for there to be snowfall in February. Even maybe once
in March. The days will be in the mid 50’s but nights go down
into the 20’s sometimes teens still.
I will put a prayer in the prayer basked for the chickens getting sticks and leaf pile.
