yesterday it was 70 degrees,  today 65 and all this coming week in the 40's.  Snow tomorrow..just a little.  and WIND warnings.   Language….warm/cold/wet/Wind….a kind of language, yes?  Earth language?

goodbye warm evenings,  speaking in the language of light

and Marti emailed her Pleasure of watching Angelique Kidjo on Austin City Limits which sent me back to UTube,  not really hoping,  but well,  could just look,  and Lo and Behold,  it is THERE…her song Adouma, which Jude was good enough to put on my side bar for me because i still can't figure out how to do that,  but it's THERE and i can click it any time i need it now,   even if "They" decide to disappear it again…..from when she was much younger than now,  and even now,  she is magnificant but compared to Adouma days, almost matronly…..and i love it because it reminds me of my Other Self,  my young and Fierce self and well, just really feels good to me.  And how i love that i don't know the meaning to the words,  they are sounds.  I love the Sounds.   I would trade sounds for meaning anyday.

and Onday was On it today,  making these awful gutteral sounds directed to everyone and particularly to the buck pen.  She is Very in heat and everyone was trying to ignore her as she cruised the middle pen looking for trouble…that  she met late in the afternoon in Arctica and they pushed and shoved  each other Hard against the fences,  …… language, again.     Double click the pic

and this Cloth.   Speaking a certain Language that is not literal.  Stitching thing down lightly…it might change?,  because i don't know the Language?

I am just beginning Ensouling Language and page 25 fits this post, with minor changes in brackets:
“The [cloth]-to-be begins to take on a life of its own, determine where it wants to go. Strange serendipity occurs. Over and over again. Odd thoughts, sometimes mistakes even, emerge of their own accord and begin to reveal truths and approaches that the [maker] did not remotely have in mind when she began to [stitch]. Golden threads, unusual intuitions … catch her attention. She senses something but can only guess at the meaning. But it pulls her on so she begins to explore it, to follow where it leads … [She] dreams and some other part of her [stitches the cloth] and the journey begins to take on … mythic dimensions.”
This is going to be fun!

it works…substituting making for writing, in ways they are
so the same and i know these words you put here so well, have read them many times over so far because they are
    true

I am so thrilled that you mentioned Angelique Kidjo. Yes, she is older but her voice is as strong as ever and she dances as a young, fierce woman, reminding me of another woman that I loved, my beloved Celia Cruz. It is absolutely transforming to see Angelique and also infectious! I danced along with her last night for over 50 minutes and I was not a creaky 68 yr old woman but my best dancing, hip shaking, young self. When Austin City Limits ended, I did not even want to sit- I still wanted to dance. Dance has always been my outlet for expression and really came front and center when I went through menopause; why I just hip shook the sweats, woes away and embraced my changing self with rhythmic abandon…
Angelique is from a part of Africa, Benin, where French is the main language and she learned English from listening to British and American music, in particular Otis Redding and James Brown.
Music is the universal language, no translation needed, just open yourself to feeling. Angelique Kidjo communicates with her whole being. Listening and watching her perform, you are pulled into her energy, her rhythm, her vibrant essence, awareness, love of song and dance and universal joy. Equally as important as her gift to us through her music is her expression of her love for humanity that crosses all barriers. She went down into the audience, brought them up on stage, singing, dancing and in between she spoke of educating African girls and how we are all of Africa and how we need to help each other, regardless of our color, religion, etc. One of her most moving statements had to do with the basic fact that when we empower women, men are also empowered.

Do I spy “August” on that wall? Suddenly I feel like we live in the same house (((smiling))) – Ensouling speaks the language of intuitive making. I’m rather fond of language, languages, new words and the meaning of everything. That’s why meditation continues to be a challenge despite the years of it. Meanwhile, music seems to cure e evrything for me: brain muddle, discontent, longing, weariness and so much more (that is the right music for the right malady. I wonder if music would have any effect on troubled goats?

Always enjoy seeing all of your cloths on the wall in the light. And the singing/dancing…may we all be so powerful at times.

so many unexpected doors..so i am whirling..slowly but whirling around as i clean ..with the music that has been shared here this morning..as i move things around..because we are still unpacking ..moving boxes.. i have not been the best at down scaling..and neither of us seems to be willing to give up our books all at once..so there are boxes…winnowing out and adding in..
and i keep thinking that i have Ensouling language here somewhere…but not really ringing any bells with me,,until suddenly i think i remember and i am ..sitting down.. thinking about Trishuwa..remembering time in her sweat lodge several years ago..thinking past her stories of that late afternoon into evening and knowing i could solve this with a google search but wanting to track it down here in this room ..and i find the papers..the Foundation for Gaian Healing..the book that i thought was here on this particular small shelf…his Healing Lyme..well it used to be here..
i know now which box (es) to hunt in to find the other work..his herbal healing books are why he seems so familiar to me..his name familiar and known ..remembering that night and the drumming and the incredible music..it was where i first saw/heard Rising Appalachia..so new pages to explore..with so any good things written here..
and i love that it was set in motion in bits and pieces by being here..looking..seeing ..listening to all the kinds of language
    gentle day

    no…it’s kin to August though
Thing is, THEY don’t feel “troubled”, they are just being
fully themselves, expressing their own true beingness…
so, it’s ME that needs the music

love that there was no googleSolve…tracking your self instead,
and yes…all the bits and pieces just floating, waiting to be
stitched together in our minds…isn’t it just Really Something!?
and there’s Plant Intelligence and the Imaginal Realm that i
was so happy about a while ago….
and how he lives down the way in Silver City
“he is a tireless advocate for the reincorporation of the exploratory artist, independent scholar, amateur naturalist
and citizen scientist in american society especially as a counterweight to the influence of corporate science and technology” from his web page
and you remind me of all that i want to explore….
