When the kids were little,  they had a Hermit Crab for a while.   Her home was a very large glass aquarium with all kinds of things to make her feel happy.  But two things would happen.  One was that now and then she grew out of her shell and tho we had some shells in there for her to change into,  sometimes none of them were the size she needed.  Only she knew.  So we would have to go find many many shells around town for her to try out.    The other thing was sometimes they would take her out of the aquarium so she could just run around.  The living room or the diningroom.  Just look around in a bigger space which she seemed to enjoy.  But a couple times,  they forgot she was out and when they remembered, we couldn't find her anywhere.  We looked and looked.  Finally finding her and once she was out of her outgrown shell…just her thin body all with dust and dog/cat hair stuck to her skin behind the piano.   I thought a lot about how her skin must have felt so sensitive without her shell,  how with her shell she could stay moist and comfortable and just OK.    So maybe i am feeling a little like her?  just my body?  That i can't find any shell that will fit right now?  The politics are difficult for me to say it nicely.  And tho it will go as it will,  still,  …..  it all will really matter so much.  We can say it won't,  but it will.  In the long run.  We don't have that much time to lose.   So…my skin feels uhhh,  well sensitive.  and the very least i can do is Care and not pretend.

The recent issue of National Geographic arrived in the mailbox.   I WISH everyone subscribed to National Geographic.  But if you don't,  they will have it at your library,  this issue and it's worth taking the time go find it and read this article.  It is WONDERFULL and no matter what you take away from it,  you will take something.  …. it is that Wonder Full…something will Stick and will Matter in some Long Run.  It's excellent.

I will ask for it at the library when I return audio books tomorrow. It’s a subject of much concern to me. I waste so little here in my small conditions. We do the best we can within our means and ‘Tonglin’ for the bigger picture. I love that the energy is moving.

I have 10 years worth of mom’s nation geographic. I read the new ones at the library to avoid having more here. i laughed because all that I grow here ends up in the ugly category and i remember dad picking through the quick sale fruit when i was little.
Better moisturize while searching for a new shell.

I have become a hermit crab this election season, I cannot bear to look outside of my terrarium, shell or not, because it just hurts and scares me to my core. I feel guilty about it but there it is.

We haven’t received our copy yet but there have been quite a few programmes on television about the amount of food wasted because it doesn’t conform to supermarket standards. I always knew that some vegetables were wasted but I was stunned by the actual amount. Smaller vegetable growers in the UK are going out of business as they are wasting more than they can sell, yet most consumers would happily buy misshapen veg they just don’t get the choice.
I think one supermarket is now selling boxes of misshapen veg, lets hope the others take it up. The other annoying thing is that you can buy less and less that isn’t pre-packaged and yet we are supposedly cutting back on the use of plastic.
I know the answer is to buy at your local greengrocer but that is not always an option.

I think about this line a lot and how it meshes with making a life

I continue to subscribe to support this most Elegant of
publications that continues to provide the most amazing
pages of anything out there. I don’t ever want them to
stop. I read them and then take to the give away box at
    the Library.
Sometimes my stuff here is ugly and sometimes it’s very
    perfect.
The Quick Sale stuff…how much we can USE the Quick Sale stuff.
All this reminds me that i need to write about the major changes
in our Grocery possibilities here in this little part of the
    Planet. Maybe tomorrow.
    and
moisturize…yes. i need to moisturize my mind, my spirit.
and maybe even evolve beyond a shell….?….i think maybe????

    It does
    Hurt.
Why. Why can we be attached to so much, ways to bring pain,
when as with this man’s Mission about Food, there is so so
much that can be Given in a great flow of Mercy

These things. YES, the things you mention here…just to
be alert to them and to act if there is some chance for it.
    To Respond. This is SOMETHING.
