a curtain might be for Looking at Things.   Things might be for nothing else but being looked at on a curtain.

more thread beads and then…maybe enough.  What is this?   Why is this.  What might it be FOR?

    you asked what is this?
    art
    you ask why is this?
it asked to be realized, to be seen and held
you ask what might it be for?
does art need a purpose other than to help us see?

I completely agree with Mo . . . it’s for its own sake, and that of the viewer and what each of us see might be different, different to what you were thinking and feeling, it’s just itself. It’s taken (taking still?) a lot for me to get past my work having a practical purpose, to just be for itself.

not even “to help us see”….cause maybe it doesn’t.
maybe it’s just so the maker can see.
    is that enough?
    like, really, is that enough?
i guess it is if you keep it Private, make in your own
space and keep it to your self
but if you are inclined to Put it OUT THERE well, then, it’s
    a different story, isn’t it.

“It is in order to really SEE, to SEE ever deeper, ever more intensely, hence to be fully aware and alive, that I draw what the Chinese call “The Ten Thousand Things” around me. Drawing is the discipline by which I constantly rediscover the world.”
