since all the baskets were down,  yesterday i took the curtains down and hand washed them in the kitchen sink,  hung them out to dry on the clothesline.   This morning i brought them in and

stitched

what i hadn't before.  Two hems.  One curtain with the "hanging loops" just pinned.  Now they are sewn.  Proper.  They smell like Tide,  not dust.  And we might be reminded that Polvadera, where i live,  in Spanish, means Nothing But Dust.

So here we have it.  Clean Curtains.  the shelf vacuumed.   For this single moment,  no dust.

it was tempting

to leave it like that

but then,  what to do with the baskets?,  the cloth?   so…no…it's how it IS.  Baskets of Cloth.  OK.

and then…Something was Born.

“They” say the first bloom is the best bloom but “They” are wrong–all the blooms are the best. This one is bloomin’gawjous!

True confession: I made curtains for our bedroom in Williamsburg to spare our neighbors the “view.” I pinned them into pleats and then never sewed them. Since we left them behind for the new owners, I can’t help but wonder what they said when they took their first close look.
And thanks for the link to Joy in Arizona …
