DSCN1483f

i first thought to do this kantha "frame" maybe 2 days ago,  but then wasn't sure it would work because it's such a small space.  But it does.  and i'm Happy it does.  it adds some weight to the edges that works with the strong image inside.  I was thinking,  i should remember this.  Because it's much easier to do the stitching when the ground cloth is still empty.  Cumbersome, now with  the figure in place.  But as it is for me,  i wouldn't have known ahead of that moment when i thought of it two days ago.  The Cloths,  always just Going as they go….of their own accord.  no forethought on my part

but it's Working now and feels really good in hand  even tho the second ground is not yet attached which turned out to be a good thing because i can kantha "in" and under it a few stitches.

This,  i can remember.  That second ground cloth was a very subtley but Beauty Fully marked cloth.  If i can remember to think things through some….i might not have used it because it is now pretty much obscured by the figure.  In a way,  it is wasted.  Something more plain would have worked just as well other than i know it's there,  but no one else will imagine it.  So,  i can try to remember that.

The thing i WILL remember,  that is imbeded in my mind is that this new Epson XP 320 printer is a piece of junk.  I've had it since last October.  It came with ink.  I've replaced all the cartridges,  maybe a month ago and have not used it much.  Today it tells me that Magenta is "LOW".  Ok,  i thank it,  but even tho Magenta is only "low",  still the image prints out with vertical lines through the image.

DO NOT BUY AN ePSON XP 320 printer.  They use ink like air.  I had the old HP for maybe 15 years until it collapsed.  It was a much better printer.

Even with the bad thoughts about the printer,  it was and still is a very gentle day.

    she’s just going beautifull
I’ve had 4 A4 printers in the last 20 years (each one has lasted about 5 years and they have all worked hard) all Canons except the Epson which I didn’t like because it used a lot more ink & was happy to see it die!

Thanks for stopping by my blog; your lady inspired me to go back to doing faces in cloth. Yes, the Kantha works and yes, the Epson uses way too much ink.

I understand what you’re saying about the cloth now being hidden but……is it not the hidden beauty in all of us that transform into what others see on the outside. The kantha frames her beautifully.

I don’t print anything anymore. Maybe encouraged by the ink thing and that it’s cheaper to buy anew printer than to keep buying ink. And I just decided I didn’t need it. Less paper. Less saving. Less in general. More drawing.

Hey Liz…i will keep track of your work with faces…thanks
    for telling me…
it’s really WAY more than the old HP. And no better an image
or color. Do you use one? and what kind do you like?

i’m going to think about your thoughts here….Why do i
    want one?
First that comes to mind is that i am always loving the Cloths
i make and when someone buys them, it’s a way for me to
keep them with me. Go back and visit them. That’s the
biggest. I guess i could just look at the images in Picasa
but i really like paper in my hands. Pages.
and there’s a whole lot of Less going on here as is, on going.
Maybe the printer is an indulgence, but hmmmm.
Also print a pic and send to the kids….write around the image
in the center of the page…and to the few friends who do not do computer, we exchange letters. sometimes i send them pics of
    the Goats on the “stationery”.
the Drawing is a whole other world for me, nothing to do
    with the printer

I have an Epson and an HP. The HP is the workhorse, I use it all the time. The Epson ink is better if I’m making prints that I may sell or give as a gift but I only use it for those things and rarely.
