as it is,  a Work Away.

Home.  it's hot.  i'd taken off my socks at work.  Home,  more hot.  April, New Mexico.  Cold in the morning you build a fire.   Later in the day it is 80 something degrees so you end up stitching in the raw.  Socks off at work this morning,  levis off for nap,  shirt off for kantha.  Stitching in the raw.

late afternoon,  how they lined themselves along the shadow of the trunk of the dead Russian Olive.  Shade is shade.  Everyone says oh,  i'll help you cut it down.  They use it.  Birds use it a lot.

early eve Feed,  once again Snowbunny,  the old Gramz was in one of the feed bowls.  So i get the camera and go out…this is her just to the left of my foot,   they all come running thinking the camera is something interesting to eat maybe.  So, no pic of her in the bowl.

these are the usual kinds of pics of Goats.  But look at the beauty full marks their hooves make in the sand

and just more kantha.  Stitched in the "raw".   Slow,  Slow,  slow.  Back/forth,  back/forth

but the FEEEL of the Cloth changes,  strengthens,  becomes.

love the way the goats line up in the shade, it’s quite warm down here too… and love your stitching, was looking & touching the fine blue kantha stitches on your x-roads cloth this morning, it helps me see and centre, thank you crow sister

Vast shifts from morning to night there! Shifts here are simply day to day, one day 75 the next 40 and tonight it feels in the twenties with sleety rain earlier and snow still in the forecast along with more rain this week. What a pleasure to look at the goats, their sand kantha and your cloth kantha.

oh grace..it snowed here for almost 14 hours yesterday..it is 7 this morning..while you were stitching in the raw i was in boots and my flannel nightgown ..being totally ludicrous as the wind blew my heavy wooden adirondack chair off of the porch and into the yard..
the marks under my window ..birds and deer..so beautiful in the snow ..so many goldfinch marks overlapping that they mimic your beautiful kantha stitches,,gentle day grace

love to see your goats finding that strip of shade – just enough to give some relief from the heat.
The kantha stitching is, to me, very like the “stitching” of the goats hooves in the earth…repetition, and a pattern that does say/sing a beautiful song.
