the last of which,  at this moment,  almost 8 pm,  i drove the latest mouse in the Tin Cat down the road,  up the road and to near the alfalfa field and the ditch which is flowing with water and dropped h/ir off.   That's commitment.  i pat self on back.  ok.

This morning, tho

Danielle at Bear Mountain had said…leave me some cards in case someone is interested.  Well….ok,  so i folded some blank index cards into 3s.   Front and back here,  and on the front,  that

form

wind

from so long back,  the 80's.

When i made the fiber figures,  the "dolls",  the Wish Angels and Guardian angels,  that mark was always there.  Then,  i called them Essential Beings…and this was the mark of them.  I found self automatically putting it in the corner of this "card".

i looked at it and drew it again,  bigger.  Looked more.   WIND.  thought about how there is a constant and not so much verbalized,  but just very much There sense of the Elementals in my experience of things….WIND being so Present,  so…in my hair.

and more bigger.  Wind.   all along,  even as a child,  i have thought myself as Married to the Wind.

and these scraps from yesterday…with this signature of Wind…maybe the next cloth?

and  some anxiety here.  The weed whacker.  It's new since last year.  Before that i had a heavier duty one.  It got lost in the neighborhood and this one,  a little lighter weight came from Bill,  Alz B's son via his long dead father, Lee.    Whenever Bill thinks i need,  like really NEED something,  he will get it and say that it's from Lee.  So from Lee.  Who i never met,  coming upon that family just after his death.  But Lee,  who i am told i would have so totally gotten along with

and this one,  there was some anxiety for a while now.  Because of the smashed right shoulder,   COULD I START IT?   i almost didn't want to know.  But those Kochia….growing growing growing and who can grow to over my head tall,  them….

so….i found the booklet that reminded me how to start it and read and thought ok and went out and DID start it with really no sweat….being better at things this year than ever before,  for instance how the instructions say to pull the cord till there is resistance and THEN give it a strong pull…which i think i ignored last year when i had trouble starting it,  but this time no…all was Easy and good

when I lived out in the bush I really liked using the weed whacker (or brush cutter as they are known here in the Land Down Under)had one with three steel blades that could get in under the weeds, cut the roots and flick them out but haven’t used any motorized garden tools since I scored a job at the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens in 1990 (who wouldda thought being a hippie chick for years and then going to art school could get me a job as a gardener? We get many lives in this one lifetime as a wise friend once said.

Woah–you made a weed whacking miracle! I never had a garden big enough for one…they have one in Massachusetts and it helps a lot. Specific injuries aside, none of us are getting younger and we can use anything that makes the job easier.
Love your essential being…there’s a lyric “taken by the wind” in a Fleetwood Mack song about a witch woman you might know https://youtu.be/U_aYibUx1B8 maybe not that relevant save for the lyric but I’m a free associating being.
Tay, Tazmeena and Fate are looking fine.

Love Fate’s smile. 🙂 We tried using vinegar on a grassy area to clear it for laying a stone patio space, it worked pretty good. I will also try boiling water for stubborn prairie weeds in my garden, I hope that works too.
I so love your drawing for the wind. To me the Wind is a being, I’m pretty used to it now. It’s so windy here all the time that the few days a year it’s still outside, everyone runs around saying no wind today!
I love all you are doing with your garden we’ve changed quite a lot this year too. I love change.

this one is not as fierce as the other one that got Lost in the neighborhood, it’s well, not as fierce.
It’s STILL, HORRIBLY LOUD and mechanical and for that i don’t love it at all
I hold it up, up enough to just cut enough of the Kochia so it will not seed. Will not continue growing to 5ft, 6ft, 7ft tall.
there is so much still, growing, the Kochia and i will pull it by hand and feed to Goats
This cutting is because of having left the hose run a month or so ago and springing forth all the seed.
There might be one more time i will use it this year, maybe after the Monsoon.

a “free associating being”…yes you are and how Glad i am for that…!!!!
younger isn’t even an issue with Kochia. The plant is stronger than any human being ever could imagine being. I remember maybe 10 years ago, crawling on my hands and knees, pulling it IN TEARS, in tears

Tazmeena is coming into a whole different self. She used to be so secretive and private. We never knew what she was doing, what her life was about.
Now, she is just There and Here. She lies on the porch in the afternoon Sun. She comes out and watches as i dig around…right there, she comes out and watches and doesn’t skip away fast to some private thing, she’s different, so much in her oldness

I live in Kansas, in a little town kind of near Wichita. We are surrounded by farms, wheat, cattle, some horse farms, even a bison farm. Lot’s of wide fields behind us so we hear coyotes at night, see many eagles, large blue cranes, various prairie birds, cardinals, orioles, meadowlarks, red wing blackbirds, crows, ravens, robins, hawks, lot’s of wild turkeys, it’s a site to see a flock of those, and mule deer, a long list of characters. I so love it here.
Also like what you said about the dolls you made, I’m getting ready to experiment with Santos dolls, that should be fun.
