so…it's done for this year.   And i'm Glad i did it.   There WERE conversations today,  but with local people,  and this was good.  People i will see again and again, over time.

Danielle wants to keep the Cloths for a while which was nice too…she likes them,  wants them there.  I am good with that but also will welcome them   "home".

My favorite part of the day was going to the Printing Shop.   I arrived just as she was working with a "challenged" woman in printing a Mother's Day  greeting.  I watched the whole process and the presses they have,  over 100 years old…just magnificant.  Sometime i'll go back and take pics.   I asked and she did sell me some really great cut paper…paper she uses for making small blank books,  i love it.

and i took the next pics of various houses but not so much,  people were home,  as in next door and it didn't feel right,  but some  and this is Magdalena.   Old buildings,  made to serve purpose.   I don't think any  NEW construction has occured there since the 40's maybe.   And as it is in New Mex,  a fine place right next door to a not so fine place.  There are no socio~economic neighborhoods,  all is mended or could be if deemed necessary.  it's quilt like.

the cross streets of the Main street always go like this.  Maybe 3 "city" blocks,  4  but like this.  They have tree names.  elm  pine  oak.   Anglo names,  funny……

These next pics don't do what i'd hoped…on the way "down",  the color of that horizon was UnReal

there is hardly a perceptible difference in these pics,  but when moving Through,  Past,  it was so much There       I cannot say my love for this land.   There is a place just beyond this where there is a crack in the Earth and a canyon is Right There,  just off the side of the road.  I was wanting to pull over there,  take a pic of it,  to show you how it is here,  how it looks like something but is many things.  But there was a truck just behind me and i couldn't slow down.  It's all down hill and the momentum pushes.

its hard to catch the vastness of land
    she stretches so far,
    the skies are just billowing
    in love with it.
I love to see the other places
those houses under the same clouds.
I can see not wanting to make more
the open land is so important.
I love seeing your cloths in the gallery.
they reflect the beauty of the land .
I saw fate what a bright spirit
its good to see him in our present
he gives hope for the future.

I loved the solid blue gate in the open fence . . . it says “come in right here, this is where you you will be welcomed.” Or maybe it’s a signal to stay out . . . but I hope not.

How good that your cloths will hang in that beautiful space for a while longer. Were none for sale? And Oh….those amazing cloud formations over the drifting landscape…and I like the quilt of homes too. So.

the juxtaposition of homes is fascinating- making do side by side with over doing. & the space with your cloths is lovely- they look very much at home there. & I can imagine that sky as you saw it.

something in between….something that Marks a space
and here, you pull up outside and give a honk
and someone comes to the door, or not

    it is Surreal
i have no words for it
but i can feel it in my chest, feel my breast bones opening
    OUT
    like wings
and it graces the land below that rests beneath so gently

a while. They Were….for sale. Danielle was slow to get the
“tag” things done, but they were for sale but at a kind of
shameful price for this part of the world where everything is
uhhhhh, less than. People saying well, it’s not Santa Fe.
but i was surprisingly stubborn…the prices were what i would
have put them for on the blog PLUS Danielle’s consignment fee
    so,
but also, a price that i would have gladly paid for them if i were the shopper…that’s what guides me….how i would feel,
being the recipient of my $713.00/month Social Security plus
the 3 cleaning jobs. Would I be shocked? or ????
No…i would have had a hard time deciding which one i wanted
i need to do more…pics and words….about the patchwork of that place, so eccentric

no. no cookie cutter. each, so individual. Even back in the
day when they were built originally….i need to really
learn things about the history of that Place
which was a thriving mining town, cattle town….the WEST
    Out West…
    so much individuality
and again, how it is here, that things just slowly implode.
Nothing is taken away, it dissolves into it’s skeletan OR
is transformed. Such a singular place.
