what i've always identified as the Toad Egg cloth.   A bolt end on the $1 a yard sale table at  Walmart, maybe 6 or 7 years ago??  2 yds maybe.  And these strands are taken off that Face that lived on the wood mast of the Raft over a circle of seasons…faded,  dirty with dust….

also this cloth for those strips i used to make the green bean trellis just a while ago,  and also tied into the Young Locust as Wind banners

funny…i am working with a cloth with a print like that…i am adding thread blobs to it. not photo’d yet, tho past steps with it are blogged, from back in may.
i am just going to jump out and ask….where is the turtle that swims through a river???

i’m not really working with it…it just is in these thing strips
here and there and i like it in very small amounts
the turtle right now is in the bedroom. I move things around. Sometimes
i put them away for a while, then go look for them and put them
    somewhere new.

that same cloth has always represented bubbles to me. I hope remembering has made you feel better. There are many ways to strip a cloth of color is what I come away with.

so…is this the strip you were referring to yesterday???
that you thought was from you?
that was the mystery to me. when you said blue, i thought you
were referring to one of the other strips…the jude one…this
cloth we are talking about now is black and white…it hadn’t
occured to me that it was the one you were referencing

yes this is it. when I said ‘blue’ I probably misspoke. the original tends more to green. i’d call it ‘teal’. but once I bleached it, mine got a ghost-y blue cast to it, that I found myself partnering with other blues, so I think of it as blue.

i can easily imagine a ghost-y blue being perfect as bubbles.
as Mo said above, this black and white is, well…Bold….but
even unfaded/bleached if it is in thin enough strips, can work
    sometimes.

it wouldn’t count as bold in my visual vocabulary, but I use less of it than I might otherwise because it doesn’t take a needle well.
