First two Yellow Hots….blowing in Wind

BIG day.  Made exact arrangements with down road neighbor for the Y posts…tree trunks for the Shade House.  His son is there,   will pull them.  Son is young and strong, and also a Dancer…Native,  at PowWows,  Award Winning.    Good Energy for the Shade House.  When i see them no longer standing,  i will get the Old Cowboy's truck that lives at Bill's and we will load and haul here.

Did weeds at the Old Cowboy's with Travis.

Bought a bathmat at Walmart and the stuff to clean inside computer that was making chirping sounds.  Cleaned it.

Stopped at Dog Trainer Jan's for 3 doz eggs and a gallon of goat milk for making cheese for the mandatory curry for the Son's visit.  She gave me IceCream from the goat milk…Sublime…Nigerians give the sweetest cream.

While there, held 3 Goat kids to get their horns banded.  All from Sunny Ray who was glad to see me but not needy.

for some odd reason,  there is a smell in the kitchen that reminds me of new cedar shavings in a hamster's cage.  Maybe because we always had hamsters when the kids were little.  Bodies remember things that the mind does not.  I am a Mother,  a Gramz,  a Nana,  an Old Nana all these i will be in the next few weeks.  I am also Me.  Winter Bitch is watching me prepare for the Ritual.

    enjoy your family! I have never quite fathomed exactly why or how people decide to have children but there was this great bit of dialogue in the film “Lost in Translation” when Scarlet Johannson asks Bill Murray about having kids;
Bob: It gets a whole lot more complicated when you have kids.
    Charlotte: It’s scary.
Bob: The most terrifying day of your life is the day the first one is born.
Charlotte: Nobody ever tells you that.
Bob: Your life, as you know it… is gone. Never to return. But they learn how to walk, and they learn how to talk… and you want to be with them. And they turn out to be the most delightful people you will ever meet in your life.
    Charlotte: That’s nice.
    I can grok that!

thank’s for the new word Mo. had to look it up..
for anyone else clueless like me, “grok =to understand profoundly and intuitively”
having children is something else i’m clueless about. but love seeing them being appreciated and loved as Grace seems to do with all people!
    love you Grace!

There is a certain sweetness to preparation for company. It can be exhausting, depending on how far the house has slumped, but the making ready creates feeling and space from which the anticipated gathering can launch itself. Best wishes for real connection with your family.

    that’s a great exchange.
I so much think that a life without children can be
as completely satisfying as with them….either way.
but i also really love kids, love their brilliant hearts
and minds. and there’s something about your own….probably
the scent of their spirits? but a something. I also am
very OK with VISITS. Not sure i need to be up close and
personal all the time, or even a lot. That might change.
    But not yet.
Daughter and i used to talk about getting a piece of land
big enough so there was a good walking distance between
our living spaces. Not like a “next door”, but a good distance so you wouldn’t take the walk just out of boredom. And then
a post where a rag could be tied….one for Yes and one for No.
    That might work.

there IS…a sweetness to the preparation. I like it too that
they are coming with close timing. 2 birds with one stone.
Have been sorting through house stuff for this last year so
this has been much easier than ever before. Thank you for
    your wishes….

I enjoy meeting people when they are two years old, just getting to know the world by making wonderfully surreal connections

    O yes those strawberries………
Its strawberrytime again but hes not here and ill have to think of something else when i see him again in a few weeks.
Wish i could send you some, but it would be jam at the moment of arrival.
I have been thinking of you as i was in France and took a picture for you to show the Catalpa was not blooming yet. Although you
can see the beginnings. It was very rainy during the two weeks i was there and kept on raining here in NL, and still is.
I think mother earth is very unhappy and crying because of what we do to her.
Grace i hope you enjoy your kids/grandkids very much.
    Sending love to you
    Martine
