she is on the curtain.    the West window.  She watches.  I know she is Watching.

When do we talk to children about   "entitlement".  Not using that word because it's too

nebulus

but about what it means.   Which in the moment means that there is a  "snack" maybe every 1/2 hour and a constant flow of liquid from a plastic bottle of some sort??????

Do we

not

say stuff?  Because it's not

fun?

What does an

OLD

nana

do?

F

a Beauty Full  oh so light green Toad  with creamy white feet and underside,  never before seen?????????????????????

G

a sprinkler.  to make up for the fact there's no TV or Xbox.  Ok….

Winter Bitch watches.

When they lived here, with dad, my son, both grandgirls would do the same thing with snacks and fluids.
I learned to say “there isn’t anything” after they moved out, but come to visit. They do fine with that and water, because I do have that.
Son learned really FAST to bring food for them. I am pretty sure they “starved” here at Gups’ house.

With Winter Bitch watching, OLD Grandma does whatever she can, and says whatever she must, but that toad knows, and that sundown shows, and the last post with all the transformation via goats (they say that goats are the most like dogs in the evolution of domestication…that they watch and signal what they want like dogs)…and how could any child resist that for long (((smile))).

Grace that last photo is stunning!
And . . . My house, My rules.
    About food and drink:
There’s water if you’re thirsty, you can help yourself.
There’ll be a snack in a little while (make ’em wait a bit . . . just fruit or crackers and cheese or a raw carrot or beans. I simply don’t buy junk food.).
There’s just one snack between meals.
There’s no more now until lunch/dinner time.
    That’s how it goes here.
    About the beach:
You want it you carry it.
    About tidying up:
You get it out, you put it away . . . no exceptions but I usually help.
    About everything else:
I usually find a way to not say no directly (I think you can wait until lunchtime sweetheart) but when I do I mean it and I NEVER change my mind.

our toads are very black this year
    its so odd
    they used to be golden
    before that tan
    I worry at my toads.
    the elfling acclimated quickly.
glad you can take time to listen
and hurry not to silence it.
    they are fortunate.
    thank you for sharing
    Hugs and happy times
