which for and in its self is Something.   and i can tell it's January because all this rises to the top of the pile

there's another one…The Zen of Gardening….in the high and arid west….David Wann

yesterday, the calendar,  today these.  Going Forward by circling around back again.  Beginning again.  Always,  beginning again.  How planting and growing is the foundation to the worlds i have lived in and live in now,  imagine living in Always.  Planting and Growing.  the Primary thing.   I do what i do OutSide now in this resting month with an eye to what to do Next.  How i might do it better this time.  Its like that.  Every year.

I wake in the morning and turn this Thing on,  see if any one has come with words,  go on to click the News,  with the hope of at least One Good Thing and then getting up and beginning the day Here, starting the fire because it's  January.  For me,  not the most inspiring month.

today Obama gave his last news conference.  I watch in its entirety.  it's said that it "brimmed with optimism".   that he was upbeat,  how he says to his daughters,  "it's not the end of the world till it's the end of the world"  How he has great faith in the young ones.

2 things with the Cloth.  The first being i'd forgotten that that top piece had been folded under.  i unfolded and ????  Second,  the surprise of a TREE.  i am not fond of the RED splotch but there was never a question that it should remain and today,  out from it is a Tree.   ???

BeautyFULL  Onday.   How they won't eat feed that has 3 raindrops but stretch to consume bark that is wet.  Exposing an entire tree of Messages from my True People.   Will take pics of those.

love seeing the goats enjoying the olive and the brave red patch growing a tree reminds me of the Australian writer Helen Garner’s words
“On Darkness” from “Everywhere I Look” 2016
On the lip of an abyss roaring with dark wind stood a tiny bush that bore an intensely red flower. The bush grew right on the very edge of nothingness, and yet somehow its roots were holding. It had a grip that no wind could disturb: it thrived there, all on its own, this modest little plant, and while the abyss yawned beside it, it went on bravely, doggedly flowering.”
& “Notes from a Brief Friendship” from “Everywhere I Look” 2016
“Sometimes it seems to me that, in the end, the only thing people have got going for them is imagination. At times of great darkness, everything around us becomes symbolic, poetic, archetypal.
Perhaps this is what dreaming, and art, are for.”

The cloth has taken on a depth suddenly. I watched the LAST one from Obama too and felt sad because it is the last one. So glad for the goats at their snacking. They give me hope and I miss having a garden to plan for…but glad you still can.

Looking forward to spring ….. all the wonderful forgotten green that one day to the next begins popping here there everywhere. Much the way your pieces grow one day to the next. Sending BLESSINGS!

sitting here..loving the idea of a tree of messages from your True People..drifting..and then responding to messages that ring online..lists of rules for the march..i do understand ..the world is much changed..since i lived in berkeley and stuck flowers into the rifles of the national guard ..who were as young as i was..but oh so many nows and don’ts..from no backpacks ..no sticks on signs..no you may not gather there…and articles about women being on the ..defensive..oh my
i am tucking your small magician into my thoughts..i am excited t think od seeing green..it has been quite white and dark brown here for quite a while..there is a new..quite vivid snow line on the trees outside of my window..the ground, of course is covered with snow..but now there is a circling line of pines and firs that did not shed the snow/frost sleet of last night….even that bit of green is covered..going to go pack,,waiting happily for tree glyphs gentle day grace
