had been thinking about just skipping to day,  it was work away monday and then just trips to the lumberyard and helping hold ocb board and then a long nap and digging a hole for compost that was gooey already but when i was out to do the evening feed in the Way Back,  filling the water,  looking up,  i saw PURPLE

just Out there near the Far Fence,  a little volunteer flower forest.  My  Weeds of the West book has been packed in the test packing event,  but i'll get it out tomorrow.  The little purples are New.  The red bud is how those daisys look before the petals begin to open.

it was like i'd been given a bouquet

Every spring it is the surprises I love the most …. ha I always have to ask myself “did I plant those”? Makes me crazy cuz honestly I just don’t always remember. But in the end it really just doesn’t matter … they are … and I love them!

Doesn’t look like the goats love them. Surprised they aren’t eating all that freshness..

I only just now got to read the history …. thank you for taking the time to write that. Your story of the past … sharing the present … and looking forward to the future. Grace THANKS for allowing me to feel a part of it all!

If you haven’t yet fished out your Weeds book, this link to the National Wildflower Center may help. You can look up what’s in bloom by state, month, color, size, and “habit” (herb, tree, grass, etc.) Likewise, it may come in handy when you are getting to know your Hill.

New Mexico land is gifting you bouquets of memory – new growing plants, new flowers…all a celebration of the journey to come, I am certain.. as certain as one can be in watching the unfolding of nature.
