i don't love this Cloth.  I didn't in the beginning and i haven't all along.  But it HAS happened that when i'm unsure,  something will appear that changes things.  Not here.  So this morning i folded it and poked it into one of the scrap baskets thinking that sometime there will be the urge to cut something out of it,  use it elsewhere.  But i went back not long after and unfolded it,  put it on the wall, the OtherSide of Magic Diaries,  and all day off and on i stood in front of it looking.   I will,  choose,  to keep working on it.  There is a lot i can learn from that,  with the stitching, the use of the Inktense Pencils,  the incorporating of the very abstract small images with the rest.  Balancing that top heaviness with what is below.  A LOT i can learn.  And it's a good time for that.  The days are fragmented by doing all the small things that need to be done,  like today,  cleaning the wood splitter,  the oil that leaks out…it's hydraulic…getting it ready to load.  Loading the truck with all that goes to the Thrift Shop from yesterday.  Putting in their places all the things to KEEP and TAKE that rose to the surface yesterday.   There's an urge to take days "off",   daydream that other Cloth,  but i choose to keep going with the small necessary things so that when it's time,  i'll be Easy with things.  I want to be Easy with things.

the colours in your cloth feel like the spirits of place shining from your raft out there in the desert, will be interesting to see where this one takes you as you prepare for leaving after 30 years. I can only imagine how it must feel to know a place so intimately for so long, we have been here for 8&1/2 years that’s the longest time I have ever lived anywhere in my whole life… renting is always a tenuous deal but it keeps us open for change at the drop of a hat…

so intimately for so long. and really…in its way, it’s not enough.
It’s through a lifetime…as long as one has, that you know much of anything at all…
That Desert Willow in the pic is just now becoming a TREE…thickening of the trunk. a Tree. planted as such a thin twig. Deserts take LONG for things. You have to be patient through years.
i will tell Travis and Everett about that twig. I will be sure they understand the story of Time. I wish i were the kind of person who loved travel, maybe in ten years, i would see such a Desert Willow, but i am not. So i will imagine. But now, i will learn the New Place and plant there and Tell the kids about this kind of thing, how a Life Time is not long at all

Oh that IS one stunning bush? Tree? and how wise to keep plugging away at the readying. It would just be great if you were ready without urgency when the time comes because It’s going to be a big deal. I get butterflies just thinking about it.

We have this tree here opposite the beach, we call it tamarisk, I didn’t know it was the same tree when I have read about it before.
