that much.  where i spent the entire day.  I gave water,  i pulled kochia,  i dug 4 holes and planted 4 tomato plants,  over a month later than Ever Before.

this is my friend.  my Belov~ed friend.   that i hand  washed and hung to dry in the Old Woman Apricot Tree.  I've begun wearing her.   its been around 40 years that she has hung in a closet. Couldn't bear the thought of wearing out.  I love this shirt.  again today, when i washed in the bucket in cool water,  she bled.   just some,  but she bled color.

used the lid of the enamel pot to make a Toad Soak.  Used to refer to this as a spa,  but right now i don't want to.  It's a place where toads can sit and soak in evening on into the night.  Earlier,  when dripping water into the tomato wells,  sitting with that Grass seed head,  i watched the lizards come to drink.

I know you will miss this place that you now call home. I know I will.. through your words and photos it has taken a hold … like all the folds in that wonderful shirt holding one after another.

The most wonderful details on that shirt!
And OH<>the glorious Hollyhock woman so thoroughly full of AGENCY, the seeds and those dungarees, and I wish I’d been with you when the lizards came for water. Your whole world is alive. Thank you Grace.

Go look at my blog tomorrow Saturday morning after 7AM, there will be photos of a trip to Massapequa NY and Edna Hill several years ago…and the garden. It was Fall then but it will be blooming for Summer when I visit again and I will take photos to share when I return Sunday:

Spent a lot of time looking at the pleats on the sleeve of the shirt. Your field notes…they do make your corner of the world come alive.

So many wonderful images, colours, patterns and – I don’t know how to say it, but ‘visiting’ this space makes me feel grounded and peaceful – and connected.
Beautiful shirt, I can imagine how it would be easy and good to wear, and I love the idea of the toads having somewhere cool to bathe in the evenings.

the ultimate would be to Not go. To continue. This is
such a good year for so many of the inhabitants here, the
Feather Grass is Everywhere, finally….even in the Way Back,
    undaunted by Goat activity.
    but Alas,

To not Go but to visit the other place is always possible.
It’s what I would do. Wait till all is settled there, visit and see how it feels.
    But I am not YOU.
but I, too, would save the shirt to have forever– or wear it and mend as it goes.

you LOOKED?! I don’t know how to do that, but know it can
be done. From what people have said, it isn’t its most
blooming self but more stark, but also, what it is
am not over that…the Agency, the hollyhock power….

    “visiting”….it’s i think actually COMING HERE…BEING HERE
….it’s real. the Place and the COMING HERE.
it’s such a Big shirt, the pleats hold it in but there is
such spaciousness of it…the wind gets in and under
there is a muddied up bottom to the pool. They came.

joanne…yes. that’s what i would have done too. But it’s not
what is presenting now, in so many ways. Will write more about
that tomorrow, but i need to go. I need to LET go.
the shirt is my Town Shirt. I take it off when i get home and hang it up. CARE fully. With love. I don’t want to have to
    mend her.
