it was 97 degrees today.  Full Sun.  Dry Heat.   I watched the Goats.  There are places of shade,  you can see over on the right along the fence,  the fence creates enough shade throughout the day to accommodate a Goat.  But they were Out and About.  In the far distance Cinderella was working on their Hole to China.  Sometimes they would be lying IN the feed bowls which are black rubber stuff or plastic.  Hot, i am sure.  But no concern.  I watch this,  thinking about how it seems we will be making the Cross Over to the Hill in the heat of the summer.    Something we'd hoped to avoid.  But watching them today,  i see that though they won't love it,  being on the road,  they will manage.  They did once before.  They will now.

and out of no where,  i was given a gift.

the base cloth which is Mexican Elderberry dye has been on the table for a long time.  A vague marking of the right eye.  Graphite.  just vague.    I've picked this cloth up now and then and looked.  Set it down.  Today,  didn't set it down.  the second eye and then,  just from the existing scraps in the flat basket right there on the table,  it Came.  Beginning with the deep Teal

No Thought.

just stitching down without any concern for how it might look,  just stitching,  including that small thread wad in the lower left, stitch it down,  ok.  Every time i was tempted to sit back and think,  i knew i shouldn't.  I should just go and wait till  "the end".  There was the sense of camouflage,  cover with organic form and substance and the word   Feral   came.

Brought out the HousePlant.  which began years ago as a stem.  Has never bloomed.  Was covered with  layers  of dust.   Each leaf,  dusted gently.  But maybe there was no need for gentle so much because it is such a fierce plant that i remember to water only once in a while but some how continues with a life of its own having little to do with me and my remembering.  Maybe will remain outside, hanging from the Old Apricot until and or through Solstice.  Maybe.

Hoyas are so tough, they flower when they are ready, 97 is hot, it’s been cold and rainy for days here in the land Down Under!

I’m enjoying the scent from my Hoya at this moment, she always starts in the dark. I have her for years and love her……..

Stitching without thought, let the muse lead. And resilient animals. I gave never heard of a Hoya plant, will look into that!

My Massachusetts friend has a hoya vine that hung in their front window here when she lived in an apartment in my building in the nineteen seventies. It’s been battered and dropped transplanted and transported further North and it just never gives up,ingflowers several times a year still.
