i think i need to think about hope.  about what hope is.  about what hope is for,  or not for.  How daydreams are formed from memory?….are they?  formed from what we know?,  have experienced?  easing out from memory of experience ,  we daydream…weave the known with the as yet  unknown….do we then  stitch that with hope?  All this is Question.

this Cloth IS a daydream.   The image of the human,  so far, female,  being in graphite….or ink,  but more and more in graphite.  Why do it want it this way,  i wonder?  Because the human is so transitory when in the space of deep imprint of Desert,  Mountain, Magic, Sky, the repetition of the wisdom of Crow.  Asking to understand more.  and maybe that's IT…

transitory because of always asking to understand more,  rather than Being?….receiving what is?

and then,  what about hope?  What is hope?

i put red thread in the crevice of the mountain.  Not as wound,  red does not mean that for me,  but rather as pulse.  As Life Force.  in this human body.  blood.  red.

this is the point i get to lately.  When all the "components" of the story are there,  yet i hesitate, being unsure…maybe i should add more…maybe it's not enough,  but then somethings says NO,  everything is here.  More would just be more….and for nothing and would really,  Take,  some…..from the Enough.  So…ok.  More of Jude's "invisible baste",  which has become for me not a baste at all,  but the ground stitch of the whole.  More,  to meld it in,  so it becomes one.  Otherwise,  i think this is IT.

Potent question. You know Emily Dickinsons answer:
‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers—
    That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
    And never stops—at all—
    And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
    That kept so many warm—
I’ve heard it in the chillest land—
    And on the strangest Sea—
    Yet, never, in Extremity,
    It asked a crumb—of Me.

love the way you pare back to the bone to the very essence of each concept
and re what is hope? I googled the dictionary definition and this one gets it
    2. archaic
    a feeling of trust.
“our private friendship, upon hope and affiance whereof, I presume to be your petitioner”
I can’t imagine a life without hope or art or love… it’s what makes it possible to be

When I discovered Jude’s invisible stitch –well, it was one of those “moments” when one wants to smack one’s self on the forehead
and say–duh–of course this the way to do this. Now I look forward to a piece of cloth and the invisible stitch. Jude is
correct it’s like thread glue. Well, now I must go find some cloth………..

Rebecca Solnit just posted this excerpt from Hope in the Dark on Facebook
” F. Scott Fitzgerald famously said, “The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function,” but the summations of the state of the world often assume that it must be all one way or the other, and since it is not all good it must all suck royally. Fitzgerald’s forgotten next sentence is, “One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise.”
You wonder what made Vaclav Havel hopeful in 1985 or 1986, when Czechoslovia was still a Soviet satellite and he was still a jailbird playwright. He said then, “The kind of hope I often think about (especially in situations that are particularly hopeless, such as prison) I understand above all as a state of mind, not a state of the world. Either we have hope within us or we don’t; it is a dimension of the soul; it’s not essentially dependent on some particular observation of the world or estimate of the situation. Hope is not prognostication. It is an orientation of the spirit, an orientation of the heart; it transcends the world that is immediately experienced, and is anchored somewhere beyond its horizons. Hope, in this deep and powerful sense, is not the same as joy that things are going well, or willingness to invest in enterprises that are obviously headed for early success, but, rather, an ability to work for something because it is good, not just because it stands a chance to succeed.”
The despair that keeps coming up is a temporary inability to work for these things that are good, a loss of belief that the task is meaningful. That loss comes from many quarters, from exhaustion, from a sadness born out of empathy, but also from expectations and analyses that are themselves problems. “Resistance is the secret of joy” said a banner quoting Alice Walker and carried by Reclaim the Streets in the late 1990s. Resistance is first of all a matter of principle and a way to live, to make yourself one small republic of unconquered spirit. You hope for results, but you don’t depend on them. And if you study the historical record, there have been results, as suprising as Czechoslovakia’s 1989 Velvet Revolution, and there will be more, though they are in the dark, beyond what can be expected.”

I like the idea that ‘more’ would take away from ‘enough’. ‘It’ is perfect.
