as i stitched today i knew something was changing about this Cloth and mid way through,  the word

surrender

arose.   Surrender…?   surrender????   Why?,  What?    but it stayed and there were no answers.   Just Surrender.  surrendering to.   All elements remained the same,  the images representing Life Force,  the intensity of that beyond what we "know".    I had been calling it Gideon's Cloth but it goes beyond that,  to the Experience of  Gideon's being on this plane and then not,  but remaining.  He, as the messenger for something about that,  that is larger than he was,  but  one  i could receive because it came from him.

look Up…into that place of Clarity….look toward where the Toad Cloth is pointing.  You can barely see.  The eyes.  the face….which came,  almost against my will.

can you see the face?  it is feminine.  because for me these things Are,  from the feminine.  It is neither human or…..  just there are eyes.  a nostril.  a line for mouth.   I try not to impose my own details on any Cloth,  but just to follow where i am led and leave things open enough so many Points of View can see what they see….

I see an eye below the eye to the right … and an ear above the eye to the left … and the word chimera came to me (although when I looked it up it only partly fit). So yes, I see the face and more … always there is more

Someone commented when you first began this piece–that they saw eyes. I did too. But perhaps not these eyes? It looks like a cat to me. Feral. Wild. Female.

The word surrender startled me because at its most basic definition, it speaks of giving up to the power of another so I sat with this cloth wondering why that word had come to you. Tloth holds so much, the bold varied colors of the cloth pieces, (Gideon’s life force) yet it was the light cloth, the blue striated one with the image of eyes that held as you call it clarity, that spoke to me of Gideon’s transition, a force of a deeper element. So how does all of this fit with surrender and then I remembered a quote by my dear Irish writer and philosopher John O’ Donohue:
“We live between the act of awakening and the act of surrender. Each morning, we awaken to the light and the invitation to a new day in the world of time; each night, we surrender to the dark to be taken to play in the world of dreams where time is no more.”

I think when one has to leave a place that has been HOME there is the need to surrender
and let go. Sometimes I was happy to go. Other times I wanted to stay. Wished I had stayed.
But in the end…I went. It must be that way at the moment of death. Surrender.
