Earth   Sky   Cloth   Thread

all we need.

Her earth arm tethers her,  her Night arm reaches   The cloth and the thread…just to the side.  Scraps of themselves for something else.  Just this much on the background of Unknowing,  of Confusion.  This Time.  So in this moment,  This.  In some future moment, who knows what?  Right now…..Enough.  Perfect.  Just….enough.

Beautiful cloth….reminds me of my childhood when me and my brothers made kites from brown paper on stick frames. The scraps on the ground; the leftover torn bits of cloth and string, that didn’t make it to the kites tail. And you know, those kites would FLY!!!

Why is this cloth so moving to me? Earth Sky Cloth Thread and it is all here and what comes to me is that she is rooted to the land and yet reaches for the sky: to expand and contract, and maybe to hold the gift of time as you wait to go to the Hill. Earth, Sky, the domain of Sandhill Cranes, flying formation, flying free overhead, touching down on land. Possibly you will make one more trip to your beloved Bosque del Apache to hold the images of place maybe; 2017 festival is Nov. 14-17.
Yet this image will solidify once you are on the hill because Sandhill Cranes come to Lake Oroville and many parts of CA.

You did a cloth several years ago with a kite luring crows. This reminds me so much of that.

i did. I looked for it today on Picasa but gave up. I did
and i loved it. Thank you for remembering.
i need a better way to keep track of Cloths…or, do I.
Maybe it’s just ok how it is. I never know.
i remember that one as the kite being like a banner though,
on a long thin pole kind of thing, like a long thin piece
of the bamboo that used to grow in the Way Back….Like
how the Viet Namese people use those long thin poles for
fishing….with bells attached, to signal in the dark night.

You’re right. It was that same right to left movement that I remembered. I remember sitting with that post for a long time. It pulled me firmly into the circle and I’m still here. Love.
