I am still so excited for you AND I don’t want to lose touch with you. I wish I could be there to help rattle a feed bucket or drive a shift during the move. I’m glad you won’t have to worry about wood. Enjoy this last of the waiting.

The golden leaves of New Mexico live in my mind’s eye, recalling our brief time there. And now you mark days and these leaves will become your golden memory, one of so very many.
When we head for home after seeing our grandson in Austin, he is often teary. So I tell him “I am happy and sad … sad that I am leaving, but happy that I will see you again soon.”
Thus is it that I am happy and sad for you … sad that you are leaving your beloved New Mexico, but happy that you will soon be with your loved ones on The Hill.
