there is an interesting Energy rising that i don't know much about but its supported by small but certain, to me, signs.  This morning began with the words floating through…Peace of Mind.  and i thought about those words…what do they mean?  I wasn't at all sure.  and the next ones that came were the By Words of  On Being,  Krista Tippet….."Stay Curious"

Peace of Mind.     Stay Curious.

I have been listening,  not once but more,  to the interview with Bell Hooks on Michelle's Blog,  Ms Uncertainty Principles. blogspot .com    You can just click her name on comment here and it will take you there…

I'd not known Bell Hooks before her post and watched the interview video and am Very Interested in her thoughts…she has a book….The Will to Change…Men,  Masculinity and Love.  I listened to her and want to read this because there is a man in the making on the Hill,  Julian,  who is 8 years.  And i hear myself often with the words   "girls rule"  and i know my JOY that Alyssia's baby was a GIRL…Girl Power,  and i know that i love Julian very much and that he works to understand his male self already in a world of predominately women.

and Bell Hooks….radical openness                     I have a very vague image when i think of these words…radical openness….it's some kind of flange,  moving.  That's all i can say right now.

and yesterday, my daughter Jenny said to go look at Slab City.  Utubes.   This is an example of why i love her,  or one of the reasons,  both her and Her Daughter Alyssia,  they have these minds,  that are so curious,  so open,  so Interested and so much without dead set opinion,  pre formed opinion.  There's a lot of breeze in their thinking.

just stuff to pack…like our minds

and i spent a good part of the day,  when not Cleaning the Pantry shelves and the bathroom closet,  doing the final reading OnLine about Composting Toilets  and making a decision that Jenny had requested.  Now's the time to Order such.  Have in place in that mystery box hut home in that circle of Hill of campsite B.  She wanted a final decision.  Ok.  Nature's Head with spider thingy.  Amazon.  OK.   Done.  I'll learn to deal with it.  Learn to deal with my own shit in a new way.  Life is GOOD.

Well, i kept checking to see if you were still on line…….and then here I see you have posted.
so that is good and I can sleep easy. Not worry about you.
So much to do after work today. Get things going for the dinner tomorrow.
Almost wish Thanksgiving was PIZZA and a SALAD. I guess it could be?
But I would miss the trashy green bean casserole and candied sweet potatoes.

    Going, going…
When I was very young, perhaps about 5, my next oldest brother and I would play a game we called goin’ to California. We’d load our wagon with stuff and pull it round and round the basement singing a monotonous song of going, going, going to California. We’d stop for pretend lunch, and to look at imaginary scenery, unload and reload the wagon, and trudge on singing. I hadn’t thought of that for ages but lately you’ve reminded me of it. Love to you dear Grace.

My son used to do burning man about 20 something years ago and it always fascinated me how so many people could create and dismantle a city. Justin (son) learned conflict resolution, deescalating conflict and other important life tools. I think the theme, common reason for being there helped everyone invest in building and creating the community they wanted. And my favorite, communication. through words, actions, art.Burning man now too commercial for him but the lessons grow inside him still.
Reading the local news paper http://www.orovillemr.com/ shows diversity in shades of humanskin. Tayon is my beautiful brown grandnephew who has made me aware that just because I am not always aware of skin color there are times when it is awkward to not notice it.Duh. Glad the neighbors are staying curious. hope they are as soft as cloth.

make sure you get a compost toilet with a urine separator. I heard that is the stinky problem. friends upstate found that out the hard way.

yes. it’s THE MAJOR thing. This one, as most now, has
separate containers. there is a liquid hole in the front
of the bowl. that’s easy. the recepticle comes off separately.
then a square hole( that has a little door) that you need to
aim into for the “solids”. that has receptical (sp. again)
that has coco coir. If you aim correctly with everything
the substance in the solid container turns into something
that is supposed to smell like potting soil. it gets emptied
maybe once a week and has to be further aged before putting
on the Earth. All just takes commitment to learning. The
old dog will acquire new aiming skills.

those are good words, no. not for faint of heart. But
somewhere in my reading i read about 2 90 something year old
women roommates and their 80 year old neighbor who
say they wouldn’t have it any other way and are happy
    as clams.
i like looking and reading and noting all my reactions
to things. And yes….how people CAN, with nothing,
make a life. I loved the utube about their annual Prom.

since a month or so the husband has a hunting lodge (that makes it sound grander than it is, but anyway) it was originally built as a fruit storage barn, about a century ago; it has no electricity or running water and one day I mentioned to him: you’ll need a toilet of sorts or otherwise no woman can come visit…..things could have turned out differently, ha! Anyway he surprised me and built an eco-toilet, a composting one. It is a real pleasure to sit there.
another warning: don’t use it when taking anti-biotics, as they destroy the bacteria in the compost!!
