wanted to see what it might be like….Deb Lacativa's Dirty Thread for the leaves,  there's going to  need to be a LOT of leaves,  that canopy that Jenny told me about,  so a lot…thick

Deb's thread is beyond FINE.  i can barely stand the pleasure of it.  Like i say about drawing with graphite…Better than sex.  it's like that.

the soundtrack of Now and as i imagine it,  the soundtrack of getting there and then the soundtrack of learning There .  Maybe the soundtrack of all the from now on Going.  ??   You can find it on UTube.

What a brilliant young woman she is.  Like the brilliant young women of my daughter and grand daughter,  i LOVE young women,  how they carry SEEDS of Everything in their Going,  how great it will be to have the privilege of watching this Happen,  young women flinging life seeds

got this from Montana Joe,  manhandledthreads.blogspot.com some years back.  For no other reason than its BEAUTY and GENIUS.  Will pack it in the black toy box.  For the kids.  So they can understand history.

it's 5:38 pm.  so close to Dark, but still some vague light on the Rim.  To be honest,  i am grateful for night.  This waiting is hard.  Night brings a kind of reprieve,  in the crazy dreams that have stuff to solve and resolve but won't happen,  really.  Bizzy,  but of no consequence,  unlike the Day.

love the stitched canopy of leaves with Deb’s magic threads & that is a beautiful old machine, what year was it made? it looks fancier and older than my hand cranked 1933 Singer

Zoë Keating is a one-woman orchestra. She uses a cello and a foot-controlled laptop to record layer upon layer of cello, creating intricate, haunting and compelling music. Zoë is known for both her use of technology – which she uses to sample her cello onstage – and for her DIY approach, releasing her music online without the help of a record label. Born in Canada and a cellist since the age of eight, Zoë obtained a liberal arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College and spent her 20’s working at a software startup while moonlighting as a cellist in rock bands. She eventually combined the cello and the computer, developing her signature style of live-layered music while improvising for late night crowds at her Francisco warehouse. Zoë’s grassroots, label-less approach has garnered her much public attention and press. She was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and serves on the boards of the Magik Magik Orchestra and CASH Music, a nonprofit organization that builds open source digital tools for musicians and labels. As a cellist, Zoë has played with a wide range of artists, including Imogen Heap, Amanda Palmer, Tears for Fears, DJ Shadow, Dan Hicks, Thomas Dolby, John Vanderslice, Rasputina, Pomplamoose and Paolo Nutini. She has collaborated with WNYC’s Radiolab and lends her music regularly to film, tv, dance productions and commercials. In August 2014 she started composing for the A&E drama “The Returned”, due to air in March 2015. Zoë lives in a redwood forest in Northern California. http://www.zoekeating.com/bio.html Tracklist: 1. ..i wake up each morning..and come here..taking an extra bit of pleasure in finding the next part of the journey..in still having your words to keep with me during the day..seeing the responses..the back and forth of the familiar names.. who add on and fill in and. people a world that is as real to me as the one i actually walk in here…this place where i sit in the early morning light in the summer and the dark with no shapes on these going into late fall mornings..i feel torn..sitting here..first cup of coffee and wind thread..my morning pleasures…because of course even more than this..i want you to be on your way..to not be waiting..this less fluid part of transitions..it is good that night brings a reprieve..but of course i want you safely…easily.. through tp the other side of this adventure… to another beginning..
holding my breath ..knowing how i will wait for your words..your pictures your cloths..knowing how there will be such a space ..an emptiness ..knowing whatever i imagine will be so far off..so sketchy..and yet simply so glad for it all..enjoying with an extra sense the beauty of the leaves..the dirty thread..your presence this morning..any and every morning that you appear..
enjoying the new backdrop of music and the unexpected appearance of the amazing sewing machine..just enjoying your presence..do you have your po box number yet..please share it as soon as you do..it would be so nice to be able to greet you there when you arrive..it is starting to get light and i am going out to check on the cows..they have developed a sense of wander lust..which is decidedly not funny..i will send the story later..now it almost makes me laugh..no actually not yet..and while night gives you a sense of reprieve..i feel that way as the dawn breaks enough to see their huge dark shapes ..sleeping mountains…and i breathe in and realize how tightly i have been holding my muscles..how i can come back in and look and see how this cloth has colors that echo the growing light on my horizon..how my mind leaps ahead imagines your fingers interpreting the landscapes so near where i where i grew up..because always..thank you for these mornings..these so important starts to my days ..gentle day grace

Dirty thread leaves are beautiful. I had never heard of poison oak as a vine, so looked it up. Goats love to eat it and it does not affect them. Bring on the goats!!

You have put into words so many of my own personal feelings. Visiting here first thing in the morning as well as the last thing before going to bed …. reading and in my minds eye seeing you all in your different parts of the world. I feel loved.

“still some vague light on the Rim” and “Night brings a kind of reprieve”… love your words.
I have my first batch of Dirty Threads. Not yet used.
and that machine is one, maybe two iterations prior to the one I learned on… the black wasp body, the gold stamp on the body, the metal components — sturdy but feminine somehow

I have my grandmother’s treadle machine in the original cabinet. I should look it up and see what year it is.
But there will always be hand sewing. Which I love best of all.
I, too, look forward to reading your words each day. Usually in the morning or after work.
    They bring comfort.

no…for real. Better than sex because with sex there’s the
Other….the Rest of It that comes from a partner
the Thread, like Graphite, is just its Self and Gives
    without wanting anything at all
    and is Satisfying. FILLS everything.
