in 1972, i took Jenny, in a backpack, same age, in Ann Arbor, to the Take Back the Night rally. In 1989, took Alyssia, same age.
I watched Alyssia moving through the crowd, mesmerized. She chose to carry Emrie and i'm glad….Emrie was startled by the noise, the sea of people. I watched them. Thinking about all these years, about all the Issues….looking in my mind for what has changed, what has not, thinking about the world….different now in the 40 some years of daughters, and yet, so much the same.
