(((Grace))) the good thing about camping on the land through the seasons before building is it gives you the chance to observe where the warm spots are, where the land gets boggy when it rains and conversely where it drains & stays dry, how the the angle of the sun changes for your house and garden sites etc etc

I think you will want your “hut” to have a morning window. Mo is right– you get a feel for the land now.
the back of my house faces South. Good for gardening. But the garage faces East and gets the morning light.
My husband got a shed to make into a workshop. It has windows and a little porch. I am waiting to see if that is what you are getting. He loves it.

Cloth = Home…and what beautiful cloth it is.
I lived in a 23.5 foot travel trailer when I was pregnant with my firstborn. It was an experience.

I lived in a tiny one room cabin with someone else for over a year. It can be done. I put my sewing machine on a desk shelf thing holding my books and that was my little work space.

yes. all these things. They have had the Hill for a
year and have seen it through Full Circle so a lot of
it is known…at least during the last year…things
change rapidly now. And the planting…this, for sure.
I look forward to learning Summer…it gets hot, like
N Mex. NO rain. Am doing a lot of reading about
forest gardens, trying to envision how this can apply.

there’s not a lot of choice, really, about how the hut
can be set…the fact of such a steep hill of granite
…and also trying to not disturb as much as possible…
other than clearing flammable brush, leaving it be
it’s own self. The pics i hope to send will help
    make this clearer.
I’m guessing that your husband’s workshop is very much
the same..all the shed to house building that’s “out
there…we’ve looked at it all for a year, way more,
really. I wanted to build it of pallets, but this is
more practical and will work. The porch will be
extended along the length of it…a deck.

the cloth is, the space for whatever reasons is not
so much for me, but it works for now. I want wood
    walls.

the “hut” will not be all that bigger. But it will be
OPEN….no interior walls. I need that right now,
    or…want, really….Need/Want…..
