The term, body of work.  Go LOOK….www.mappingnebraska.com

an Extraordinary Body of Work.  The most amazing i've ever seen.    Her ground cloths, she says

"respond to a particular location…..they document what is unseen, invisible, remembered or imagined"

I've written those words on the inside back of a seed packet and keep them in my pocket as i go through the days,  taking them out,  sitting down where ever i am and reading them…..several times a day.  sometimes in the middle of the nights.  They are a perfect combination and placement/order of words,  like crystals, strung on a thread  and show me again what i forget; that if we just wait in Openness,  things will come,  exactly what we need.

the pics above….another mother who lives Here….see how she carries her babies on her back?   First she carries her egg sac and once born,  the multitude of babies until they are mature enough to hunt for themselves.   Beings here do not run away.  Alyssia and i were resting at the Wall Garden,  Emrie in her carrier pouch.  Alyssia went off to get her phone/camera,  i lost track of where this Mother was,  but A found her, maybe an inch away,  took the photographs.  I love her eyes.

I go out with the dog and we both look at things. He finds living beings of the insect and animal sort and I look for emerging plant life from the Earth. Re-birth. Spring. So much energy in the air right now.

Oh, you know how much I love maps, landscapes and how they live on cloth. If only she was blogging more … I’ll have to figure out how to follow her somehow.

I wondered what had happened to you. You’ve been out finding spiders…
I like the traveling part of the Nebraska story, and photographing what is found.

So glad you’re back. I miss you much in the in-between times. What a wonderful spider…and OH, I went to Elizabeth Ingram main page and watched the quotes and photographs for at least twenty minutes. What great choices she made. I’m already stealing (recycling) the quotes with my own photographs. She’s amazing. So are you and your eyes!

yes. Nebraska. When i drove to visit my mother for the last time…she in Minnesota, me driving from New Mexico, i drove through Nebraska and it seemed as it i was driving through some kind of eternity, it went on and on and on. I wish i had had Elizabeth’s heart then. I would have been such a different experience

Yes, it’s so interesting you say that because when I first looked it was hard for me to find anything interesting about her work. I mean, it’s Nebraska…basically the same thing as Kansas. I can go out my door right now and find the exact same landscape and features everywhere. But it really was her pictures that captured me and reminded me about perspective and finding beauty wherever you are.

Yes, exactly. The only time I’ve been through Nebraska was one Long straight through trip and it rained the whole time. I slept on and off. If I’d only seen with different eyes.
