What if? What if because of being Only One, you decided to weave yourself in? and What if they didn't mind? And you became the Lead? Talkie. a Chicken. a single Chicken became a part of the herd this morning. Not just a part of the herd, but the one that went Ahead. First. With Goats, someone always needs to go first. and with this herd, first is always up for grabs. Talkie took it. She also lays one egg a day.

Chickens do seem to like to take charge. Thinking of Little Red Hen.

We saw on the news that one goat decided to go walk about and all the others followed. They were a crew of rental goats used to tame landscape and the “walk about” was into a residential neighborhood where they enjoyed the flowers and trees until they got corralled and returned to the travel trailer..
I think you have the basics for a very nice illustrated children’s book here Grace. Talkie Takes Charge.
Who knows what adventures Talkie and the Goats could have going forward.LikeLike

Talkie, an opportunist, a survivalist. How far and wide do you need to look for her egg?

she is just so funny. All day, every day, my words to Tay are No Chicken. She is believing. She rarely looks Talkie’s way. But still. I remind. No Chicken.
But Talkie simply goes about. How chickens do, scratching, investigating, just going.LikeLike

it’s right there…in a pile of hay just outside the Bought chicken house, a pile of xcess hay. She’s made her nest so smooth and perfect a bowl. There are the two porRceline eggs we got her so she wouldn’t feel sad. Every day, she sits a while, i guess during or after laying her egg.
Right there. You go to give her chicken food stuff and new water in her gravity feed water thing and hang out with her a little, she likes to peck at my scabs, and then just there, in that hay, her dear eggLikeLike
