this is one of the paths that can be taken.  There are a couple.  I can never decide because really,  they still are hidden almost until you begin going.  I like this one the best tho.  It is from the top of C and goes pretty much directly down.

to this very large Rock.  Which has no name yet.  There is a tendency to call her the Grandmother Rock,  but we don't,  for no known reason.  She is just Rock.  Maybe the size of a Volkswagen beetle.  Big.  Just there,  in one of the sunlit small meadows.

you can see the pine cone…it's atop the Mole's burial site.  The pine cone is the size of a pinapple.

looking down from the Rock,  the kids spinning swing that is at the edge of the forest and the big meadow of A.  It's a great swing.  about 4ft diameter,  i can  lay on my back and swing or spin,  looking UP and into the trees.  It takes you to a different Place.

There is a dog face in the rock, looking from the pine cone to the rock. black nose. i tend to see things where others don’t, and vise versa…usually the vice versa.

I am amazed at how much grass there is. Absolutely amazed. There is so much it softens the edges of everything. Amazing. Really. Wow.
I see the dog in the rock. A smooshed nose like a boxer.
Have fun at the farmer’s market.

A pineapple-sized pinecone is hard for me to imagine … but a path through grass such as this I know well and love
P.S. I see a bird in the rock … although at that size, perhaps a dinosaur

When I would visit my friend in Sonoma, I collected those big pinecones to bring back to Maine. They can be cut into “slices” to make very large pine cone “roses” to decorate a 48* wide wreath for Christmas.–which I did when I worked in the greenhouse (for custom orders).
My checked baggage (in the days of that being free) held pounds of lemons from my friend’s trees and giant pinecones. Thank you for bringing those memories back to me!!!

You’ve graduated to four photos and a thread of story. Wow! Rock is monumental and makes me wonder where it’s layers of history lie beneath the grasses. That swing! Ah, I know that perspective from swinging in a hammock in Massachusetts some years ago…I made a little video of it but can’t find it to share.

I think the old grandmother rock
    looks like a buffalo
    laying on its side snoring.
