the color. i can't get it.  Not this brownish,  which is beautiful in this pic,  but not it….it's a grey kind of brown,  from the Oak Galls but no matter how i tried,  it wouldn't come True.  But i like,  very much the Marks

today was day 5 of the antibiotic injections for Cinderella.  Liquamycin LA 200  Oxytetraycline injection.  And the spray topical  Scarlex.   Day 5 when you evaluate any improvement,  to continue,  or to let it go.  All the books,   the o  nline info,

with goats,  at a point you just

cull.

which means put down.  kill.  Cull is kind of a nicer word for kill.

her udder is much better…reduced in size…the point of all of it seems to be oozing and releasing.  Her butt hole is pink and dry.  Her appetite is good and today,  for the injection,  she was Strong and resisting.  5 more days then.  It's what we can thnk of.  She is held in this corridor between the Doe Forest and the Original Buck Yards.  It's narrow,  but Long.  The other Goats come to visit on the Doe side.  Her mother,  Ginger comes off and on through the day,  just to see her.  It has to be this way.  If we let her loose,  we would never be able to catch her anymore.  This way, we can do all that we know to do.  She yells, being caught,  even tho she doesn't run away from being caught,  but when she is caught,  being held by her new collar for the injection,  she yells.   She doesnt yell for the injection,  just for the Holding.  When it's all over,  she eats the pellets.

Fig has begun to grow again.   Many new leaves and these two last fruits.

I am glad Cinderella is doing better. Any idea what happened? Responding to the antibiotics tells you something. (All I keep thinking of are those “savage” pinecones.) Poor baby. It warms my heart to know her mother goes to visit her every day. I only have cats now but it is comforting to me to see how they interact with each other. I will keep sending loving thoughts to her. And you.

Happy to hear Cinderella is improved. The care of critters was always my most engaged and stressful activity when I had them (dogs, cats, birds)…you are managing well as usual. Love to you and them and oh the FIG! Yay.

I know you will give it your best, as all of us animal lovers do. I wish her the best, although not happy about her isolation from the herd. I too am struggling with a beloved animal, a horse, with challenging issues. Love the colored pencils! Thinking about Tay too.

Back last night from spending most of August in CA, then back to New Mexico with grand kids then long drive back to CA with them via trips to the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. Lots of catching up to do. Photo of cloth with such good markings was a nice back to home moment, even though you are there in CA and I am here in New Mexico, cloth calls out across the land and this one has a good land sense: news of Cinderella worrisome since I didn’t know Cinderella was ill but see that news is good, she is improving. Quiet joy in seeing the last blooming figs…will take some time to see how it has gone for you and yours.

    love thoughts are good medicine.
i think it’s been ongoing for a long time, like way back in N Mex. and also not dissimilar to SnowBunny’s malady, her Grandmother. So may be heredity. But still. If we can buy her some time. If we can clear it enough for a year or whatever? then, this is good.
the antibiotics work for the infection that would be secondary i think to maybe cancer?
today she was good. Frisky even.

My beautiful Venus didnt eat for two weeks. The da couldnt find anything wrong but said she must eat or she would die, so i kept her alive with cattreads. I had booked for the Goddess Conference in Glastonbury but could not go because of her. My flight was on sunday, on monday she started eating again.
So much on catpsycologie. She ruined my holiday but im happy shes alive.
