if you can get two, get a 2B and a 6B graphite pencil. like cheap. Dick Blick. if there isn't a store nearby. 2 pencils. paper.
a paper bag from the grocery is good, the texture, the color….or any thing. Printer paper works. I've drawn on paper towel, toilet paper, even.
if you have the 6 B, you can push your finger into the drawn line and soften it, smear it. it becomes organic, organic being alive. Real. Not a line, but a livingness.
I think today i am loving drawing more than i ever have, and i have loved drawing. Like LOVED drawing. I have said drawing is better than sex and it is. Way better.
