i'm looking at specific places that i can document. Photograph and re photograph as the Season circles on and around. This is one of the trunks of the Morning Tree community of Live Oaks. This particular small space, was a dusty brown. Bark looking for the last months. I can't tell you what it looked like when i arrived in December last year…i didn't know to look yet, didn't recognize it to become what is now my Morning Tree. and for the rest of the Rain Season, things were a blur for me. But i have found my feet. Some. Enough. and i looked out this morning and there was a different world. The soft green. As i said, They Say that Rain Season begins in October. It did. October 1st. just a little. October 2nd. same October 3rd Some, October 4th a LOT. and that transformation has begun. It's Intense and Fierce. Lichen. Moss. The WORLD of Lichen and Moss….that are so much major and critical players in the drama of this forest, the dance of this forest Hill.

Very poetic observations. The particular as a necessary part of the whole and isn’t that lichen green fine!

i was always so amazed when people laughed at me when I first moved away from California..the Bay area..and told me that California didn’t have seasons..when I had been marveling with them my whole life..when they talked about the colors ..the changes in weather.
.now of course ..living in Vermont I have daily proof that they simply didn’t understand..the differences in these large and seemingly small..but not really …seasons..i love that you are there ..seeing the greens…knowing the spaces..breathing the air…may you have a good blend of rain and sunshine..gentle day graceLikeLike

Lichen. Moss. Still gentle life grows in this world. And gentle folk
still notice and wonder. I have more hope for us all.LikeLike

I do not know this plant, I have never seen anything like this. The moss here in the east is so different. You open up a new world to me every day. Thank you.
