What a beautiful copper pot–no wonder you cried when you thought it had been left behind.

ah good to see the bit of starry palm inflorescence, your pennant has made it home safe & sound!
and re what below? earthworms for aerating the soil & making it rich and friable for those roots!

Yumminess..a copper pot full of the scent of lilac! My lilac bushes are just developing leaf buds.. daffodils and tulips have leaves above ground a few inches.. your cloth reminds me without roots we have no beauty. I love the fact that we can be transplanted and grow new roots.

    Beautiful container! And stitching!
An answer to a long ago question: We have Heritage and Live Oaks here. The pines were logged out long ago.
Thank you for your post about your Airstream. (I used to daydream about having one to sew in in my backyard. Or, a caboose.) I loved your photographs of how you’ve made it a home. I hope you are able to make it as comfortable as possible. Did I understand correctly that you do not like the back room, regardless of what’s in it- maybe not useable?
Rain is gone for now, and the heat is early. I would like to see you get electric power, solar or otherwise. It really would make life easier. We might be in for an extra hot summer.
I’m excited that the young voters are so interested in the environment and climate change. We have an awful lot of people who are unwilling to change their lives to help stem/stop the generation of so much garbage. Our sixth-grade classes are going to the dump/recycling center in Lincoln tomorrow, because our teachers are interested in it. Anyway, Happy Earth Day!
I’m just catching up with you.

the back room. there’s nothing wrong with it, windows 3 sides, space. Without that giant bed….a whole different thing? In thinking about your question here, i realize that i really LIKE being right HERE…right across from the door…last night, just the screen door again, like being so close to Out There, hearing the Goats movements in the dark, the sounds of Night here
that room seems far. So i would never sleep there. There could be a big to do about it, pulling out the bed, the water tanks and finding that it really wouldn’t matter.
Alyssia found a picnic table on Buy Sell Trade…nice. They had sold it but said they can make another, so
    YES.
a table just OutSide here, for working with the plants and cloth. that might be enough. I wait to find out.
I love that children will go to the dump. To learn that when we say we will “throw it away”, that there IS NO AWAY.
I count on the young ones. They, i think are way more committed to what is necessary. Their LIVES DEPEND ON IT.
So so glad for your words, Laura…knowing that you are close by is a great blessing and comfort for me…

The sixth-graders went to the dump/recycling center today. It was hot and smelly. They found out that we generate 850 million tons of garbage in Placer County each day. We only have 352,000-ish population! I am from the Portland, Oregon area, where we were taught a more community oriented lifestyle. The children have to teach now. That’s not right.
Maybe we in your community can help you with your ‘room’.
I will try to catch up on Sunday. So much family stuff going on.
