a string of days,  till at least mid week next….Rain.  Not so much the downpour of Winter Season,  but every day for the next 5 will have rain.

i walked down the Hill to the car for the town trip and at this moment,  the scent of the Scotch Broom over there was just intoxicating.  The rain made it even more intense.    It's over the road that borders the creek ditch.  Not on this Hill and i think about that.  It's invasive and there are efforts to erradicate it.  Here,  there's this small forest of it.  Same as last year,  size wise i think.   It's on the dirt Fish and Game Road so i assume they will deal with it if they feel the need.   I think about how plant people are invasive.  I think about how anglos,  europeans,  are invasive here.  and we do not have a beauty Full scent.

an extraordinary thing.  Mo sent an email this morning that there was a message for me in the comments on HER blog…from Palma…..saying….Grace,  i have lost your phone #  and leaving hers.    on HER blog.  in Australia.  a message for me.

HOW AMAZing if this??????  What's the  likelihood?  How can it be?  How did Palma come to do that???????

i will find out when i call her,  but i just am savoring it right now,  that it occurred,  that this grapevine is so intimate.  Palma is a beloved friend from LOOOONG ago in Ann Arbor Michigan who i have not had contact with for some years.  and through Mo,  through Mo.  ???????

some of the invasives here are actually very pretty to see as you drive down the road … Malta star thistle, Johnsongrass, bastard cabbage, bull thistle … but they crowd out the native plants. It’s interesting to note that they are all shallow rooted and relatively easy to pull up. I wonder, is Scotch broom likewise easy to uproot?

California is due for some drenching and blowing a friend tells me who lives at Fort Bragg. May you and all the critters be safe and secure. May your cloth and drawing sustain you through the days to come. You are on my mind every day dear one.

I deleted the comment & sent it on to you as I don’t think it’s a good idea to put a phone number on a blog or website.

The weather…it shapes everything really. I like that it is still, really unknowable.

The way we find each other is as mysterious and wonderful as the rain falling down. Reading out of order, and the rain, usual or not, sounds wonderful. Or maybe it is just your descriptions of it that catch me?

    i think this is a critical thing…to acknowledge…that the weather shapes Everything. I think it’s a MAJOR
    LEARNINg in these times.

well…maybe it is, but not for me…i am so so DONE
with WET. And it’s bringing so much redux that’s not
great. But…we need to accept what’s happening. Learn
    and Understand
