while doing the work, Alyssia accidentally pulled a very young coyote bush. I brought it up and cut it, pieces of branches, stem and leaves. In a pot, boiled moments then outside into the copper pot with that Iron Something, a horseshoe from the road, bundled cotton, silk noile and linen. I googled. Does coyote bush have tannin and got a great dye page. Yes. Coyote Bush DOES have a lot of tannin. Tannin. mordant. just overnight and through early morning….the green of this Hill. Green.
Wonderful soft, “sagey” green. Yes, I can see the color here. I wonder, was the bundle already turning green before you put it in the copper pot or did the copper help in the greenness? Copper does help to get this most elusive color…

The plumber left me lots of old copper pipe when he worked on the new radiators. I will be wrapping cloth around them. See what happens. A quiet morning here. Sun. Clouds and rain later. I am going out to have coffee with my friend. a good day.

So looking forward to finding my creative self again .. it has been awhile. It’ll still be a bit of time but I can see it happening soon. I’m continually amazed at the softness of color that come out of the natural dye pots I see posted .. 😙

the plant was giving Immediately…in the stainless pot on the stove for the few moments i heated that way. I didnt continue in here…a small space and tho all windows are open, it still is small. In the next few days i’ll heat a pot Out, on the OutSide table using the camp stove. Can heat much longer there, simmer.
So…simmering in the copper pot, with that odd iron Thing and with the horse shoe. And i did what you do…a splash of vinegar.
