Everywhere we have lived, I have built a small cairn of locally gathered rocks to place near our front door, sentinels of protection. Recently I had a need to change my rock formation, to bring it closer to the front of our home, to show connection, to show a welcome. All of the rocks were gathered from one of my favorite places in New Mexico, Jemez Springs. The rocks form a circle from underneath one of our bedroom windows, facing the street. The assorted colors of the rocks speak to me of spirit, of connection, of earth wisdom. Formed in a circle, they hold the quiet joy of inclusion and welcome, welcome to all and especially welcome to grace’s sister rocks…
