Tina sent this.   A stone from Lake Superior.   Held within this pouch.  

it took a while,  to have the Sense of it all.   and the sense of it all made sense when she told me.  

"the small pouch with the snap came from my dad.  it held his rosary.  He prayed the rosary everyday for as long as I can remember."

the word that came to mind when i held the pouch was gabardine.  I don't know what gabardine is.  But i associate it as Male,  as like maybe a suit.  A scrap of a suit?  or a left over from the making of a suit?  It's plain and strong woven.  Quiet.  It's a quiet fabric.  The stitching,  done with honor of that quietness.  Bordering it,  but quietly.  Respecting something.  and to learn that it had held his rosary.

    answering my own question, sort of. I was reading and commenting on my phone before but now have my laptop and it’s much easier to read ALL of the posts and comments now. I was so moved by the energy raised by Prayers For Irene post and its comment section. Am now moved to share what it guided me to do as prayerful contribution here in Central Massachusetts.
    In the little field beside our house a large (six feet or so) oblong of granite rises from the earth in the shape of a woman’s breasts. The property’s sacred fire pit is formed by the hollow between the breasts. Of course this is where a prayer should be made manifest for this situation! But where would I find the details for making it happen?
    Hmm. Well – years back, when we both lived in different places and in a somewhat different Way, Grace and I exchanged gift parcels. One inclusion from her was a tiny vase/vessel made from part of a dried gourd. Yes! Grace I knew would welcome this use of something that has previously held my life-long accumulation of small-to-tiny herkimer diamonds. Further guided by the group energy raised by the already collected prayers, I was strongly drawn to Marti’s inclusion of homegrown and specially selected herbs. Looked around with a slow soft gaze to see what the field might offer. Was both amazed and moved to tears to find the inclusion right near my feet for here I discovered “miraculous” blooms of prunella/self heal and St. Johns Wort (both dried out by Lammas). Blew my prayers into them before placing a well-proportioned fairy bed to fill the tiny gourd vase. This was anchored firmly in the burnt wood and ashes then surrounded by miniature chips off the roack to insure the small offering holds steady there between the two granite breasts.
    Note: Prunella flower essence is a power-house with many very relevant uses. I was strongly drawn to its sudden unexpected appearance specifically because this medicine spirit allows us to discover new/evolving/innovative passageways of maximum access to our individualized healing gifts and resources from both the inner and outer landscape.
    St. Johnswort essence is one of two known as a Master/Golden Shield of protection for all our subtle energetic layers as well as our physical body. The other (Yellow Yarrow) concerns itself mostly with lateral/horizontal energy flows. This one flows most naturally on a vertical/earth-sky axis. It’s protective and illuminatory capabilities are off the charts – truly encouraging and supporting us to “stand tall” in whatever we’re facing. While gravely ill the flower’s healing signature allows us to access chakra energy below the root/red energy center – at the Earth Star level. Such ephemeral grounding can be a crucial life-line while treatment and recovery require optimum energy conservation and protection.

    Grace, gabardine is a sturdy cloth made from worsted wool or cotton that’s used to make suits, pants, and uniforms. It features a diagonal rib on the front of the fabric and a smooth side on the back. I’ve had gabardine pants…they lasted for years.

    it’s Wednesday night…September 18 now. There is Storm.
    the second. THUNDERMAN, like the same THUNDERMAN of
    that Place in New Mexico…has come here, to bring Rain.
    I can’t bear to close the door, so Rain comes through the screen door onto the floor and i put towels. I can’t bear to close the door.
