My Old Nana Kit.    Direct from Acey's Sparkling Lotus  and SPARKLING IT IS!!!!!    I have never received any thing like this.  OR gotten my self anything like this.   And more,  it's the first NEW thing in my life in YEARS.  Even Spirit Cloth was in familiar territotry of cloth.    I have finger torn images and elmered them down to paper, poster board and a kitchen wall.   But this is something else Entirely.  IT HAS A VOICE.  Distinct and a harmony of all it's individual parts  that  sat so elegantly inside their box.  their

kit

i just SMILE.  Their kit.  I've never had a kit.  What an interesting word.

all This.  except the ruler and the manila envelope.   All  Inside the     Kit.

so here is my spot at the Everything Table.   As you can see,  there are Things.  But there is very much room for a

kit

and already,  the Individuals in the kit are talking among themselves.  Already they told me how when i learn how to,  i can make little BOOKS for Fate.  To send him,  once a month through the year,  in the Mail….as in to his mailbox,  where he lives  on his street in Sacramento.   I'd struggled.  What to give for …..Christmas….a dilemma,  a holiday that makes me uneasy.  The kids have a LOT of stuff.  And it's Stuff.   Fate in particular is not drawn in any deep way to Stuff.   Things don't have the same meaning to him.   It's unclear what does.  But the Kit is talking and says     Make little Books.   Let the mailperson bring them.  He would be into that…the mailperson bringing.

so.   for now,  i will slowly look at all This.  Touch all the pieces.   Imagine Things.   Wait to begin.

THANK YOU,  Acey.

Love how you’ve been guided so far. And that the little scissors live a new life in a new day. Am smiling. gathering everything together was great fun but thinking about how parts may begin to disperse is even better. Also to make the active connection that I was driven to do this – knew how to do this – because of something deeply meaningful and loving from my past. How I was raised with this System The Speaks.
Fate might Look Forward more was than one ?

This is so great. I enjoyed watching Acey decide (on her blog) what to put in and why. And now it is there and is so great.
My niece works with a non verbal young man (18 or so) who is on the spectrum. She is his rec therapist. He loves music. Especially a guitar. And he accompanies with his harmonica. He communicates by writing in a notebook with her assistance. His favorite song is Pete Seeger – Blowin In the Wind. He writes that it is a “war song”. He likes songs that have words about difficulties with life and with people. They are his war songs. Does Fate like singing or music? Another friend has a grandson who is on the spectrum and his first spoken word was cake. He loves boxed cake mix. He likes to make cake. And eat it. Little kids are great. And I think Fate will LOVE the mail person bringing him special books made by Old Nana. Just for him and his life.

Acey’s gift is thoughtful and caring and full circle: filled with love and joy as you tell of how it goes with the kit, of how Emrie and Giana share in the making, of how Fate will receive little booklets of Old Nana’s love possibly with some additions from Emrie and Giana as well. Making together, sharing, sending in the mail, it’s all about the heart. Time spent with old Nana in the doing, love arriving in the mail. Children love to receive their own personal mail. For many years, I used to send a monthly envelope to my grand kids filled with notes, stories, drawings, cutouts that might interest them, treasures such as found feather, special rocks, pressed flowers, etc. Children feel special when they see that something that has come in the mail is addressed especially to them.

Wonderful gift with so many possibilities! In the last year I have been making small books, very simple, sometimes just accordian fold, and find it incredibly satisfying. For me its keeping a record of the simple things I love, a leaf, a word, a piece of moss. My granddaughter(8 yrs old)loves their smallness and how she gets to make up the “story” for each page, now she is making them also. love

i’ll talk to T, his mother…get her sense of it.
I also thought today he might just love the TAPE…being
able to mark things with it, he’s learning to write
simple words. I can imagine small pieces of tape all over
their house, his letters on them.
Jenny’s son, his father and T his mother spend enormous amounts of energy and time with helping him Go. He has
school and also daughter Jenny pays for additional therapy.
he is not lacking, but it’s me. the Old Nana. How can I give.

    i love mail too.
he’s just recently 4. So much to learn about what he
likes and wants. He loved the rock painting at his
little sister’s birthday picnic. Used the paint like he was frosting cupcakes. Globs of it but was totally absorbed.
I love hearing of these other children

it’s great for kids’ parents as well as kids because it doesn’t leave marks. Even stuck in the hair it comes out pretty swiftly and painlessly.
