Evolution continues

20200109_112314

it rained all night and into the Morning.   I'd gotten up before light,  long before light here and read the prompt.  Draw a line.  I can't draw a line i thought.   Scatter it's path.   If i can't draw a line,  how would i scatter it's path?   I can't do this,  i   ….thought.  And then,   the piece of paper of the Spirit Women came…one of the ones Acey had sent.   Went back to sleep, cold and rain on roof.   Woke and found the image before the first cup of tea was ready.  Sat with it.   And then it went as it went.

late this afternoon i watched the trailer for Queen of the Sun again.  Used to be able to watch the Whole of it on utube.  Not anymore.  So i watch the trailer,  waiting till the end to see Her,  covered with

bees       I would cover this sort of collage with bees.

and when I stand in the middle of an arriving honeybee swarm I feel beyond this earth that some huge invisible energy has visited me and guided these bees to arrive and stay in my garden. Love to you Grace.

Dear Grace, Each Spring I put into my garden bait hives to attract bee swarms to my garden. I put old brood comb and lemon grass oil inside which mimicks the queen bee pheromone. About a month before a colony will swarm scout bees fly out to look for a new home. When about a 100 scouts have visited, discussed, negotiated, they will guide the thousands of bees including the queen to my hive. They arrive and the whole world is alive with their sound, like a huge plane landing. It is a ROAR. My own bees have never swarmed, so these are from other beekeepers hives. It is so unpredictable, I never know where they come from. Each Spring I wait and wonder and hope that they will come. This year 1 swarm arrived, previous 10 years, 3 swarms a year. I am hopefull every year that they will continue to come because it is hope for the future, hope there is a greater energy out there, hope that the environment can continue. My husband says I get swarm depression when they havent arrived by the first month of Spring. But it is a great deal of hoping that I can provide them with some form of sanctuary in my piece of paradise, that this will be enough for them to continue. Thomas Seeley (American bee scientist) has written books about bees, bait hives. He is really intune with them and well worth reading.

Bet the beet was sweet. Evolution is evolving beautifully.
Grace, when I read your post I comment about whats here if I have something to say. Sometimes I only enjoy looking. You say on my ‘Collage’ post you came twice to look for a comment. Don’t fret. Like I say, I’ll comment when I have something to say. I look every day.

circles and recursive-ness were in my mind as I considered Acey’s prompt (still un-real-ized) … my eye especially delighted in the figure at the top, her hand raised, feeding (or being fed?) by the circles …

    Dear Acey
Thank you. and Thank You for sharing your gift with seeing through the eyes of collage. I love that what you do reaches me on the other side of the world geographically but through shared loves and curiosity we all join together. Greetings from New Zealand.

a line goes from one thing to another. If you haven’t yet
imagined the Things, how could you possibly draw the line first?
    something like that

i put old brood comb….lemon grass…i SWOON at these words.
i don’t know if you were around way back in New Mex when suddenly, BEES were coming just at the foot of the front steps to the house, going Under the house, coming and going, steady. I had old dogs going up and down those steps. I called everyone i could think of and got a lot of advice. I walked the land, looking for the swarm, it was farther away, but it was sure that these were scouts.
There was no one around anymore who was willing to move a Queen if she came. Finally…daughter called. Hang a sock, anykind of sock with mothballs in it across their point of entry. I did that and that was the end of it. They left. I stood there. Bereft. Gone. not providing safe harbor. I will forever remember that.
We talk sometimes about providing for them. They come to all the native blossoms. I’m too old now, to begin beekeeping but i can learn all i can and i can tell stories to Emrie and her mother, Alyssia. For them….it’s in Good Time.
I love, LOVE so much that you have been willing to TELL here. Any time you can, any time you might be inclined, if you could tell Us of your Bees. I will be beyond beyond Grateful for this.
SO MUCH LOVE to you in your BeautyFull land of New Zealand

have circles. Beets are just so so FINE

she with her hand raised…she sends down the corrective Medicine to them….to gently neutralize them, quiet them until something else can be done. The ones at the bottom, the ones that don’t mind killing butterflies don’t even
    notice
