the Hydrangea….from the first year here,  mother's day for Jenny from Jeff.    Planted.  flourishing, eaten by Goats,  removed and repotted all last year because no one said where to Plant.   Today.   Emrie and i dug the hole.   She is IN.   Surprisingly,  her roots remained modest????   She is Steadfast.   I have no doubt.

and the FIG too….planted then.   Greening buds at the ends of small branches.   How Amazing.

Hydrangeas are such tough plants once established but for the first year or two they don’t cope with drying out, try keep the water up this summer!

And how wonderfully this image of Emrie digging in the soil is common to all of our ancestors from time beginning. That pull to touch the earth, the smell, the feel of moist, living earth. I ofen think when people ask what sort of garden do you have, I would like to answer ‘I’m a soil farmer, I compost and mulch, I nurture the soil’s life.” Everything begins from here.

    what does she say
Emrie says…she said she is good. Ok then.
