so GLAD there were two.   Their lives are so Great as TWO.   and it will be especially so,  in this old herd with all its longstanding complexities.    We will wether them.   band their balls which over time just wither like raisins and fall away.  They will live Free with the Does.  Become part of the Hill Herd.      Ordinarily,   two bucklings would have been a disappointment.  Bucks are neutered to become companions for unaltered Bucks…like Jack Flash is for Sonny Ray.   or they become companion animals for human beings.  Or they are meat.    Few are left whole to retain as herd sires.  One buck can serve a World of Goats.   These,  for Emrie and Julian.  They will learn all of GoatKeeping.   Julian claimed the flashy one.   Emrie has the black one.   

Not even 2 days old today,  they ran in the corridor behind the Kidding House which is called the Curry House.   Caroline would leave and go the extent of that corridor and call them…it took a while,  but they would go.   They don't walk.  They run or bounce.   Tay has never seen baby Goats before…she is mesmerized.   The Black let her taste him.  She was thrilled.

    “so GLAD there were two”…I know this, it’s in my bones, in my heart and I very much feel like their goat god-mother because I know what it means to have two as I am the mother of twin girls, now women and the grandmother of two- twin girl and boy.

    in Nigerian Dairy Goats lineage is critical. Milking lines.
    Nogal, a buckling i KEPT because he was from a very deliberate breeding. Our OOna and Deanna’s buck, Intrigue in Peralta, New Mexico. STRONG MILKING LINES.
    the buck from that breeding was Buckwheat who was born just as Jenny first landed in California. within a day. He was an extraordinarily BEAUTYFULL buck…there are pics somewhere of him on the Windthread posts. I bred him with Caroline and Lucky Star. Nogal is from Lucky Star. i did that breeding because of Alyssia’s LOVE of Buckwheat. Tho i let Buckwheat go, i kept Nogal. For the Line. We have no doelings this time. Maybe we won’t. it’s still to be seen. The Great Hope of Jenny’s Crazy Wisdom Dairy is not gone….it’s hovering. Things happen. or not. We don’t know.
    but…Nogal. yes. And two more went in with him…Karma and Mercy. If they Took, they would kid in May.

    Being present for the birth of my twin grandsons and close by for the days weeks and months that followed I still am having trouble holding back joyful tears. My heart sings looking at the wonderful pictures … they are sooo cute.

    I’ve been here for the past 10 days. Catching up with you and Jude. Taking everything in. Catching up, now that school’s out. I really needed a break, but this all is not right.     yes, Laura…i understood that. And getting this kind
    of break…well….as many have said, it’s hard to focus.
    we search now for ways to be.
    we will know so much more on the otherside of this.
    Much more and hopefully will keep our good knowing

    there is no sign that she did. It’s hard to tell
    with her. She is a wide Goat. She carries kids
    differently. But we study all the signs we can
    and it doesn’t seem as if she is.
    I will be so grateful if this is true.

    today was Good. Attentiveness. JOY. but Ease too,
    for the first time. Ease. Watching from a ways away,
    just watching.
    We will find the way. I love it that the kids have no concern about her…NONE/Zero…nor does their Mother.
